Katy Perry unveils ‘E.T’ music video

Katy Perry has unveiled the music video for her latest single ‘E.T’.

The singer teased fans via her Twitter page ahead of its premiere by asking: “Are you ready for abduction?” before posting the clip on YouTube.

The promo sees the star hurtling through space towards a destroyed planet Earth and turning a robot into a human.

Kanye West, who also features in the clip and the radio edit of the track, tweeted at the star: “Congrats friend, we did it! #sweet.”

‘Limitless’ wins at UK box office

Bradley Cooper’s new movie Limitless has topped the UK box office on its debut weekend on release.

The thriller, also starring Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish, opens with more than £2 million in ticket sales to cruise past animation A Turtle’s Tale and Channing Tatum’s The Eagle and secure first place.

Last week’s number one Rango falls to number four, while Liam Neeson’s Unknown rounds out the top five.

Adam Deacon’s comedy Anuvahood is the only release to holds its position as it charts at number seven for the second consecutive week.

Elsewhere, Battle: Los Angeles, Chalet Girl, The Lincoln Lawyer and Hall Pass each tumble down the chart four places in the top ten.

Adele claims back singles chart No. 1

Adele has regained pole position on the UK singles chart with ‘Someone Like You’.

The 21 star scored a fifth week at number one after knocking previous chart-topper Nicole Scherzinger and her track ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’ down to two.

Third place this week belongs to ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ by The Black Eyed Peas, which gains a hefty 12 spots from last Sunday, while The Wanted’s ‘Gold Forever’ and Jessie J’s ‘Price Tag’ complete the top five.

Adele’s debut release ‘Rolling In The Deep’ also continues to hang within the single digits at nine, as Lady GaGa rounds out a largely unchanged top ten with ‘Born This Way’, down three from last week’s seven.

‘Rango’ returns to UK box office summit

Johnny Depp’s Rango has reclaimed the UK box office top spot from Battle: Los Angeles.

The Gore Verbinski-directed animated Western pulls in just over £1 million in its third weekend on release to leapfrog above the action movie and secure the top spot.

Liam Neeson thriller Unknown holds its place at number three, while new releases Chalet Girl and The Lincoln Lawyer round out the top five.

Comedy Anuvahood is the only other debuting movie to chart in the top ten, landing at number seven with just over £500,000.

Elsewhere, The Adjustment Bureau falls four spots to number eight and The King’s Speech earns £350,000 to chart at nine. The royal drama has grossed more than £44 million in the UK since its cinema bow in January.

Scherzinger topples Adele from singles No. 1

Nicole Scherzinger 'Don't Hold Your Breath'

Nicole Scherzinger has notched up her first solo UK singles chart number one with ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’, which ends Adele’s four-week stay at pole position.

The X Factor guest judge, who last appeared on the rankings in December with top three hit ‘Poison’, became the first artist to outsell ‘Someone Like You’ since its release last month.

Scherzinger has topped the UK singles chart twice before as part of the Pussycat Dolls, who reached number one with their first two singles ‘Don’t Ya’ and ‘Stickwitu’ in 2005. The girl group went on to have eight more top 20 hits in the UK before Scherzinger’s departure last year.

Follwing Scherzinger and Adele are The Wanted, who score their third top five hit with Comic Relief single ‘Gold Forever’ at three, while Jessie J’s ‘Price Tag’ and Rihanna’s ‘S&M’ are bumped down two apiece to round out the top five.

The last single digit spot is snapped up by Dr Dre, Eminem and Skylar Grey, who take ‘I Need A Doctor’ to a new peak of nine in its seventh week of release, while up-and-coming girlband Parade make a respectable debut with ‘Louder’ at 10.

‘Battle: Los Angeles’ scores UK box office No.1

Battle: Los Angeles has debuted in first place at the UK box office.

The Aaron Eckhart-led sci-fi blockbuster pulls in £1.7 million to narrowly edge past Johnny Depp’s Rango and secure the chart top spot.

Thriller Unknown holds its position at number three, while The Adjustment Bureau falls to number four. New release Hall Pass, the latest comedy from the Farrelly brothers, completes the top five.

Elsewhere political thriller Fair Game is the only other new release to chart in the top ten, landing at number nine.

Adele continues singles chart reign

Adele has retained pole position on the UK singles chart for a fourth week with ‘Someone Like You’.

The Brit School favourite held firm at the peak of an unchanged top four also containing Jessie J, Rihanna and Lady GaGa, while Wiz Khalifa rounds out the top five with his debut track ‘Black And Yellow’.

However, ‘Rolling In The Deep’, the lead track from the London-born singer’s album 21, drops out of the top five for the first time, after slipping four places to nine.

Just beyond are two climbers in the shape of ‘I Need A Doctor’ by Dre Dre, Eminem and Skylar Grey, which rises four places to a peak of 11, and Tinie Tempah’s ‘Wonderman’, also progressing four at 12.

Gathering pace too is Avril Lavigne’s ‘What The Hell’, which is up nine places to 16 in its eighth week of release, while the title of biggest climber this Sunday goes to Noah And The Whale and ‘L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.’, at 19 from its previous finish of 31.

Right behind, and just missing out on a spot in the upper half of the chart, are the week’s second and third highest new entries, ‘Heart On My Sleeve’ by Olly Murs and ‘Till The World Ends’ by Britney Spears, which settle in at 21 and 22 respectively.

‘Rango’ lassos UK box office top spot

Rango has held off competition from The Adjustment Bureau and Unknown to top the UK box office.

Johnny Depp’s animated Western pulls in £1.6 million to lead the chart on its debut weekend on release. The total narrowly edges the film past Matt Damon’s Bureau and Liam Neeson’s Unknown to secure the number one spot.

Last week’s runner-up Paul slips down to four, while The King’s Speech rises to five on the back of its recent Academy Awards success.

3D animation Gnomeo & Juliet dips sharply to six , while True Grit and West Is West climb to fill numbers eight and nine respectively.

Elsewhere, new releases Ironclad and The Tempest both miss out on top ten places.
