Rod Stewart scores UK number one album

Rod Stewart has scored his first UK number one album since 1979 with Time.

The LP is Stewart’s first collection of self-penned material in over two decades, and is the first to top the chart since 1979’s Greatest Hits Volume 1. His last studio album to hit number one was 1976’s A Night on the Town.

He told The Official Charts Company: “Well, knock me down with a feather. Just goes to show there’s still plenty of songs left in the old violin. Thank you!”

Gabrielle Aplin lands at two with her debut LP English Rain, finishing 20,000 copies behind Stewart.

Vampire Weekend match the success of their previous albums by entering at three with Modern Vampires of the City.

Caro Emerald drops three from last week’s summit to four with The Shocking Miss Emerald, followed by Rudimental’s Home at five.

ABBA singer Agnetha Faltskog achieves the highest-charting solo album of her career, with A landing at six.

Primal Scream enter at 12 with their tenth album More Light, while The Fall’s 30th studio album Re-Mit is a new entry at 30.

Caro Emerald wins first UK No.1 album

Caro Emerald has won her first UK number one with The Shocking Miss Emerald.

Following her 2010 top five album Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor, the singer beat last week’s chart-topper Home by Rudimental by less than 3,000 copies.

Emerald told The Official Charts Company: “I’m humbled by this exciting news. It’s such a huge recognition for the hard work we’ve put in to this record. I want to give a big thank you to all the fans and everybody who has supported us over the last few years. Thank you!”

Hugh Laurie scores his second UK top three album, as Didn’t It Rain lands at number three.

Alison Moyet earns her first top five solo album in 26 years, with the minutes arriving at five, her highest-charting LP since 1987’s Raindancing.

Lady Antebellum secure a Top 10 album at seven with Golden, while Noah and the Whale are new at 13 with Heart of Nowhere.

Savages’ debut album Silence Yourself is a new entry at 19, followed by London duo Public Service Broadcasting at 21 with Inform, Educate, Entertain.

Armin van Buuren follows his Top 10 singles success with new album Intense at 37, followed by Thea Gilmore’s Regardless at 39.

Rudimental score debut number one album

Rudimental have won a UK number one with their debut album Home.

The dance collective’s first LP follows number one singles ‘Feel the Love’ and ‘Waiting All Night’ by reaching the top spot.

Michael Bublé drops a place after two weeks at the top with To Be Loved, while Pink rises one to three with The Truth About Love.

Emeli Sandé remains in the top five yet again, climbing a spot to four with Our Version of Events. will.i.am’s #willpower is down two to five.

Passenger earns his highest-charting album yet with All the Little Lights at six, climbing 19 places.

Bo Bruce becomes the first Voice UK contestant to win a Top 10 album, entering at ten with Before I Sleep.

Blue’s comeback album Roulette is also a new entry at 13, their first studio album not to reach number one.

Seasick Steve scores his fourth top 20 album, landing at 14 with Hubcap Music. Deep Purple’s 19th album Now What?! is new at 19.

Michael Bublé holds on to UK No.1 album

Michael Bublé has kept hold of the UK albums number one with To Be Loved.

The Canadian singer’s latest collection stays on top of the pile for a second week in a row.

Frank Turner scores his highest-charting album to date with his fourth LP Tape Deck Heart, which lands at two.

will.i.am also earns his best-charting solo album so far, with #willpower entering at the number three spot.

Pink sticks at four with The Truth About Love, while Emeli Sandé slips two to five with Our Version of Events, making chart history in the process.Phoenix’s fifth album Bankrupt! is also their highest entry to date, landing at 14.

Rob Zombie’s Venomous Rat Regeneration Chamber is a new entry at 33, just ahead of Snoop Dogg’s Reincarnation (as Snoop Lion) at 34.

Daft Punk’s comeback with chart-topping single ‘Get Lucky’ has sparked renewed interest in their back catalogue, with their classic 2001 LP Discovery re-entering at 23.

Michael Bublé has scored his fourth UK number one album with To Be Loved.

His latest collection and follow-up to 2011’s Christmas becomes his fastest-selling album in the UK so far, shifting 121,000 copies.

It is also the fastest-selling album of 2012 so far, and outsold the rest of the top five combined.

Fall Out Boy land at two with their comeback album Save Rock and Roll, their highest-charting album to date in the UK.

Emeli Sandé continues her incredible streak inside the Top 10, climbing a place to three with Our Version of Events.

Pink falls one to four with The Truth About Love, while Justin Timberlake drops three to five with The 20/20 Experience. Paramore slip from last week’s number one to six with their self-titled album.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs score their third consecutive Top 10 album at nine with Mosquito.

Steve Earle enters at 30 with his new collection The Low Highway, while Kid Cudi lands at 32 with Indicud. Angel follows at 33 with About Time.

Major Lazer’s Free the Universe is a new entry at 34, while Kacey Musgraves is new at 39 with Same Trailer Different Park.

Iron & Wine also sneaks in at 40 with his new album Ghost on Ghost.

Paramore win second UK number one album

Paramore have won their second UK number one album with their self-titled LP.

Equalling the success of their 2009 album Brand New Eyes, the trio end the three-week reign of Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience, which falls to two.

Pink climbs two places to three with The Truth About Love, while Emeli Sandé rises three places to four with longrunner Our Version of Events. Imagine Dragons drop three to five with Night Visions.

James Blake’s new album Overgrown lands at eight, one place higher than the peak position of his previous self-titled LP.

Stone Sour’s House Of Gold And Bones: Part 2 is a new entry at 11, while Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark enter at 12 with English Electric.

Swedish duo The Knife earn a new entry at 32 with their latest LP Shaking the Habitual.

Justin Timberlake keeps UK albums No.1

Justin Timberlake has kept hold of the UK number one album spot for a third week running.

The 20/20 Experience held off the challenge from Imagine Dragons, whose debut album Night Vision settles for second place by less than 3,000 copies, having led the pack in midweek.

Bring Me the Horizon’s fourth studio album Sempiternal is the metal band’s highest-charting so far, landing at three.

David Bowie’s The Next Day drops a place to four, while Pink rises one place to five with The Truth About Love.

Meat Loaf’s 35th anniversary edition of Bat Out of Hell enters the chart in ninth position. Rihanna leaps 14 places to ten with Unapologetic.

Killswitch Engage earn their highest-charting album so far, with Disarm the Descent entering at 15.

Tyler, The Creator wins his first top 20 placing with Wolf landing at 17. British Sea Power’s Machineries Of Joy is a new entry at 19.

Wiley wins his first Top 40 album at 26 with The Ascent, while Jimi Hendrix re-enters at 30 with People, Hell and Angels.

Bonobo also scores his first UK Top 40 placing at 34 with new album The North Borders.

Justin Timberlake holds off Depeche Mode at UK albums number one

Justin Timberlake has kept hold of the UK albums top spot with The 20/20 Experience.

Depeche Mode finish at number two with their 13th studio album Delta Machine, matching the peak of their previous LP in 2009.

Despite having only 4,000 copies separating each other in the midweek chart, Timberlake ended up beating his competition by almost two copies to one by the end of the week.

David Bowie drops one place to three with The Next Day, followed by longrunner Our Version of Events by Emeli Sandé and Unorthodox Jukebox by Bruno Mars.

The Strokes score their fifth UK Top 10 album with Comedown Machine, which enters at ten.

Eric Clapton’s 20th studio album Old Sock lands at 13, while Worcester group Peace enter at 16 with debut album In Love.

Simple Minds collection Celebrate is a new entry at 19. Joe Bonamassa’s An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera enters at 23.

Lil Wayne’s latest album I Am Not A Human Being II finishes at 29, followed by Iron Maiden’s Maiden England ’88 at 30 and OneRepublic’s Native at 35.

On the compilations chart, Now! 84 has become the fastest-selling album of 2013 so far, shifting a massive 262,000 copies in its first week on sale. However, its predecessor sold 295,000 copies in its first week last year.

Justin Timberlake scores third UK No.1 album

Justin Timberlake has scored his third UK number one album with The 20/20 Experience.

The ‘Mirrors’ singer’s long-awaited follow-up to 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds overtakes David Bowie to become the fastest-selling album of 2013 so far, shifting nearly 106,000 copies.

Bowie’s The Next Day falls one place to two, while Emeli Sandé remains at three with Our Version of Events.

The Les Misérables soundtrack rises up six places to four following the release of the deluxe edition. Bastille drop one place to five with Bad Blood.

Suede score their first Top 10 album in nearly 14 years with Bloodsports at ten. Billy Bragg enters at 14 with his 13th album Tooth & Nail.

Daughter’s debut album If You Leave enters at 16, while Black Rebel Motorcycle Club land at 32 with Specter at the Feast.

Steve Mason’s Monkey Minds In The Devil’s Time is a new entry at 34, followed by Hadouken! with Every Weekend at 35. Woodkid lands at 38 with debut album The Golden Age.

David Bowie earns first No.1 album in 20 years

David BowieDavid Bowie has scored his first UK number one album in 20 years with The Next Day.

The rock icon landed at the top of the chart with his first studio LP since 2003’s Reality, and his first chart-topper since 1993’s Black Tie White Noise.

It shifted over 94,000 copies to become the fastest-selling album of the year so far.

Bon Jovi settle for number two with their latest album What About Now, having been outsold by more than two copies to one. Their Greatest Hits collection also climbs 26 places to 31.

Emeli Sandé falls just one place to three with Our Version of Events, while Bastille drop three spots to four with Bad Blood. Bruno Mars falls one to complete the top five with Unorthodox Jukebox.
