Justin Timberlake holds off Depeche Mode at UK albums number one

Justin Timberlake has kept hold of the UK albums top spot with The 20/20 Experience.

Depeche Mode finish at number two with their 13th studio album Delta Machine, matching the peak of their previous LP in 2009.

Despite having only 4,000 copies separating each other in the midweek chart, Timberlake ended up beating his competition by almost two copies to one by the end of the week.

David Bowie drops one place to three with The Next Day, followed by longrunner Our Version of Events by Emeli Sandé and Unorthodox Jukebox by Bruno Mars.

The Strokes score their fifth UK Top 10 album with Comedown Machine, which enters at ten.

Eric Clapton’s 20th studio album Old Sock lands at 13, while Worcester group Peace enter at 16 with debut album In Love.

Simple Minds collection Celebrate is a new entry at 19. Joe Bonamassa’s An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera enters at 23.

Lil Wayne’s latest album I Am Not A Human Being II finishes at 29, followed by Iron Maiden’s Maiden England ’88 at 30 and OneRepublic’s Native at 35.

On the compilations chart, Now! 84 has become the fastest-selling album of 2013 so far, shifting a massive 262,000 copies in its first week on sale. However, its predecessor sold 295,000 copies in its first week last year.
