Lewis Capaldi takes out a sixth week at Number 1

Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi celebrates a sixth week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart, while Billie Eilish lands three tracks in the Top 20 from her chart-topping debut album.

Someone You Loved finishes 9,000 combined sales ahead of this week’s Number 2, Bad Guy by Billie Eilish. The track is this week’s highest new entry following the release of her Number 1 debut album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?. Meanwhile, Bury A Friend rebounds 14 places to Number 6, and Wish You Were Gay flies 29 spots to a new peak at Number 13.

Meduza’s Piece Of Your Heart ft. Goodboys leaps 22 places to Number 10 after entering the Top 40 for the first time last week. Coventry rapper Jay1 debuts at Number 19 with Your Mrs, and Westlife’s brand new single Better Man comes in at 26.

Finally, Lil Nas X’s viral country-rap hit Old Town Road enters the Top 40 for the first time, climbing 28 steps to 39, and Ariana Grande & Victoria Monet’s new collaboration Monopoly debuts at Number 40 after only being released on Monday night.

Yoshi’s Crafted World comes in at number one

Yoshi’s Crafted World has had a great start in life, as the GfK Chart-Track has revealed that the green Nintendo mascot has topped the UK physical chart this week, replacing Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice as From Software’s game falls to number three.

The Division 2 is standing firm at number two, and when it comes to new entries, Assassin’s Creed III Remastered springs into action in number nine, with Generation Zero coming in at 19, The Walking Dead: The Final Season at 23, and Outward at 24.

Lewis Capaldi earns a fifth week at Number 1

Lewis Capaldi’s chart success continues as Someone You Loved lands a fifth week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart.

Finishing ahead by over 11,000 copies and posting 7.8 million audio and video streams, Lewis holds Giant by Calvin Harris and Rag’n’Bone Man at Number 2 for a fifth consecutive week.

Lewis leads a chart packed with new peaks for climbing tracks, including Just You And I by Tom Walker, which breaks the Top 3 for the first time, while this week’s highest new entry is Fashion Week by British producer Steel Banglez featuring AJ Tracey and MoStack at Number 7 – a first Top 10 for all three artists.

Walk Me Home by Pink returns to the Top 10, rebounding three places to 9 following the release of its music video, and Options, from NSG feat. Tion Wayne, also makes a comeback at 10.

Boasty by Wiley, Stefflon Don, Sean Paul feat. Idris Elba rises 11 places to Number 11, and Marshmello is up nine to 14 with Here With Me feat. Chvrches, the Glasgow band’s first ever Top 20 single.

Ava Max claims her second Top 20 single with So Am I, zooming 12 places to 18; Russ & Tion Wayne’s collab Keisha & Becky debuts at 19; Piece of Your Heart by Meduza ft. Goodboys rockets 26 slots to 32; and George Ezra’s Pretty Shining People rises to 38 to give him his sixth Top 40 single.

Sekiro slices its way to the top of the UK retail charts

Good things come to those who wait, and that includes both gamers and game makers by the looks of it. FromSoftware will be popping champagne corks this week as the studio has scored its second multi-platform chart success here in the UK with it being the developer’s second chart-topper after Dark Souls III managed the same feat back in 2016.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was, therefore, last week’s best-selling game at UK retail, with former best-seller The Division 2 pushed into second place. Otherwise, there’s a slight reshuffle in terms of the top ten, but nothing worth writing home about. Here’s the GfK Chart-Track top ten in full:

Lewis Capaldi claims a fourth week at Number 1

Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved holds on for a fourth week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart after his biggest week of streams so far.

The hit single clocked up 7.32 million streams and is the most streamed track of the week by more than one million plays.

Two acts get their first ever Top 5 singles this week: Tom Walker climbs six places to Number 4 with Just You And I, and Jonas Brothers’ Sucker climbs two to Number 5.

Dave collects his fifth Top 10 single with Location, which rises three to 8, and Lauv and Troye Sivan both land their first Top 10 UK single with I’m So Tired, climbing four spots to 9.

Further down, Sigrid climbs five places to 15 with Don’t Feel Like Crying, Wiley, Stefflon Don and Sean Paul’s Boasty (ft. Idris Elba) jumps 11 places to 22, and Marshmello claims his fifth Top 40 hit with Here With Me ft. Chvrches, flying 19 places to 23 – earning the Glasgow band their second Top 40 single.

Ava Max’s So Am I, the follow up to her hit Number 1 single Sweet But Psycho, zooms 20 places to Number 30, and finally, US rapper and singer Lizzo picks up her first Top 40 hit with Juice, after vaulting 19 spots to 38.

The Division 2 tops the gaming charts

Considering anticipation for The Division 2 before release it might not surprise you to hear that it’s debuted at the top spot when it comes to the UK physical charts, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz, but it may surprise you to hear it fell well short of the original’s launch figures, gathering 20% of what the first game sold in its launch week.

60% of these sales came on PS4, with the rest on Xbox One, and since many people have posted a review in progress as they work their way through the massive game, as more reviews continue to drop this will no doubt affect sales.

Devil May Cry 5, however, slips from first place to number six after facing a 76% drop in sales compared to the week before, with Red Dead Redemption 2 riding into number two with a 22% increase in sales. Grand Theft Auto V sits just behind at number three, having a whopping 121% bump.

In number five we also have The Lego Movie 2 Videogame after the game launched in Nintendo Switch, while Anthem fell out of the top 10 to sit at number 11. For the full top 10 list though, be sure to check down below.

Lewis Capaldi lands a second week at Number 1

Lewis Capaldi hangs on to his Number 1 position on the Official Singles Chart, just ahead of Calvin Harris and Rag’n’Bone Man, who take the runner-up spot for a second week.

Someone You Loved crosses the finish line 6,000 combined sales ahead of Giant; and while Calvin Harris & Rag’n’Bone Man didn’t quite nab the top spot, they did pick up the most downloads this week.

Mabel’s Don’t Call Me Up lands at Number 3 after overtaking Ariana Grande’s two former Number 1s Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored and 7 Rings at 4 and 5.

This week’s highest new entry comes from the Jonas Brothers; their long-awaited return after six years Sucker flies straight in at Number 6 to become their first ever UK Top 10 single.

Just You And I by Tom Walker climbs two to 8 as his debut album What a Time to Be Alive takes Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart.

Elsewhere on the chart, Cardi B and Bruno Mars’ collaboration Please Me climbs seven spots to 13 following the release of its music video; I’m So Tired by Lauv & Troye Sivan climbs three to a new peak of 14; US rapper and producer Roddy Ricch’s collab with Chip and Yxng Bane How It Is debuts at 18.

Lewis Capaldi’s Grace edges closer to becoming his second Top 20 single, climbing three to Number 21; Kehlani’s Nights Like This ft. Ty Dolla Sign rises four to Number 29; London rapper Swarmz scores his first Top 40 entry as Bally ft. Tion Wayne rockets 22 spots to Number 32.

Finally, Sigrid should feel like celebrating as Don’t Feel Like Crying becomes her second Top 40 single after zooming 31 places to 34.

Anthem takes the top spot for a second week

Last week Anthem debuted at number one in the UK boxed charts even though it managed significantly lower sales than Mass Effect: Andromeda, and despite the lukewarm reception to Bioware’s game it has retained the top spot after fending off competition from the likes of The Lego Movie 2 Videogame.

As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, a 71% drop in sales week-on-week wasn’t enough to topple Anthem, which had competition from FIFA 19 a place behind it. The game of The Lego Movie 2 also entered at number four, selling 59% of the copies on PS4, the same percentage that Dirt Rally 2.0 had on the console at number six (although Codemasters’ game was actually number two when it comes to revenue, since it sold at a higher price than others).

Trials Rising: Gold Edition is another new entry into the top 10, in number 10, with 39% coming on PS4, 33% on Xbox One, and 28% on Nintendo Switch. Dead or Alive 6, however, sold less than half of what 5 managed, and enters the charts in number 21.

Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved climbs to Number 1

Congratulations to Lewis Capaldi, who claims his first Number 1 on this week’s Official Singles Chart with Someone You Loved.

The song lifts from 3 to 1, logging 58,000 combined sales, including 6 million audio streams. Someone You Loved first entered the Top 100 at Number 66 back in January and has steadily climbed over the past nine weeks.

Celebrating the news, Lewis told Official Charts: “Look who it is at Number 1! If you’ve listened to it, bought it, streamed it… thanks very much. This is my first Number 1, so I’m officially a one-hit wonder on the Official Charts.”

The Scottish singer-songwriter made his Official Chart debut last November with Grace, which reaches a new peak at Number 24 in this week’s Top 40. His debut album, Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, is out on May 17.

After a close battle all week, Calvin Harris & Rag’n’Bone Man’s Giant settles for second places, finishing 1,900 combined sales behind Lewis, while last week’s Number 1 7 Rings by Ariana Grande slips to 4.

Pink claims this week’s highest new entry with Walk Me Home at Number 8, earning the star her 20th UK Top 10 single, while Tom Walker zooms nine spots to Number 10 with Just You & I following his British Breakthrough win at this year’s BRIT Awards.

Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s Shallow rebounds ten places to 11 after winning Best Song at last week’s Oscars, and there are Top 20 breakthroughs for Blueface’s Thotiana, up seven to 15, and Lauv & Troye Sivan’s I’m So Tired, up five to 17.

Further down, Kehlani’s Nights Like This ft. Ty Dolla $ign  returns to the Top 40 at 33 following the release of her While We Wait mixtape, and two songs performed at last week’s BRITs return to the Top 40: Jess Glynne’s Thursday leaps six places to 35, and Calvin Harris & Sam Smith’s Promises climbs 13 spots to 37.

Finally, London rapper Dave bows at 40 with his new single Black.

Anthem tops the list with half of Andromeda’s sales

We’ve just provided our review of Anthem this past week, and we’ve found out courtesy of GamesIndustry.biz that despite a mixed reception it has flown to the top of the UK boxed charts to claim the number one spot, with 54% of its sales coming from PS4, 40% on Xbox One, and the rest on PC.

Despite this first-place debut another report reveals that the game only managed half of the launch week sales of Mass Effect: Andromeda, Bioware’s last game that was notorious for its disappointing reviews and itself sold half of what Mass Effect 3 managed. Insider ZhugeEX also claims that the game sold around 10% of what Destiny managed in its first week, with Anthem also selling around a quarter of what Destiny 2 achieved in its first week too.

There are a number of caveats to add here though. The landscape has changed a lot since the launch of 3 and even Andromeda in 2017, with digital downloads (the stats of which we don’t have, whether that’s sales or Origin Access players) becoming more favoured in recent years over boxed sales. We should also note that anticipation was very high for Andromeda, while Andromeda’s own reception and the lukewarm response to the various pre-release demos dampened the hype for Anthem.

Anthem’s launch week sales were lower than that of Resident Evil 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3, heavy hitters that have also launched this year, but it has outsold Far Cry: New Dawn (down 43% this week) and Metro Exodus (down 55%) as both games hit their second week. Jump Force also has a big drop from number four to 17 with a 64% drop in sales in its second week, with Crackdown 3 dropping to number 26 after a 51% dip.
