Justin Timberlake keeps UK albums No.1

Justin Timberlake has kept hold of the UK number one album spot for a third week running.

The 20/20 Experience held off the challenge from Imagine Dragons, whose debut album Night Vision settles for second place by less than 3,000 copies, having led the pack in midweek.

Bring Me the Horizon’s fourth studio album Sempiternal is the metal band’s highest-charting so far, landing at three.

David Bowie’s The Next Day drops a place to four, while Pink rises one place to five with The Truth About Love.

Meat Loaf’s 35th anniversary edition of Bat Out of Hell enters the chart in ninth position. Rihanna leaps 14 places to ten with Unapologetic.

Killswitch Engage earn their highest-charting album so far, with Disarm the Descent entering at 15.

Tyler, The Creator wins his first top 20 placing with Wolf landing at 17. British Sea Power’s Machineries Of Joy is a new entry at 19.

Wiley wins his first Top 40 album at 26 with The Ascent, while Jimi Hendrix re-enters at 30 with People, Hell and Angels.

Bonobo also scores his first UK Top 40 placing at 34 with new album The North Borders.

UK box office top 10: The Croods beats GI Joe: Retaliation, Trance

The Croods has spent its second weekend at the top of the UK box office.

DreamWorks’ latest animation held off competition from blockbuster GI Joe: Retaliation and Trance to lead the chart over the Easter weekend.

Jack the Giant Slayer slipped down two places to number four, while new release The Host completes the top five.

Elsewhere, the top ten sees new entries from the 3D re-release of Finding Nemo and François Ozon’s drama In the House.

‘BioShock Infinite’ is all-format number one

BioShock Infinite has topped the UK charts in its debut week of release.

The first-person shooter has seen the biggest launch week for the BioShock franchise, selling 9,000 more copies than BioShock 2 in 2010.

It is also the second biggest launch of 2013 after Tomb Raider last month, which maintains second place after a number of price promotions at retail.

There were also several other new entries, including Luigi’s Mansion 2 in fifth, Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel in sixth and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 in eighth.

LEGO City Undercover debuts outside of the top ten in 12th position, while Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time manages 31st place.

Elsewhere, last week’s number one Gears of War: Judgment moves down to third place, while FIFA 13 is in fourth.

Justin Timberlake holds off Depeche Mode at UK albums number one

Justin Timberlake has kept hold of the UK albums top spot with The 20/20 Experience.

Depeche Mode finish at number two with their 13th studio album Delta Machine, matching the peak of their previous LP in 2009.

Despite having only 4,000 copies separating each other in the midweek chart, Timberlake ended up beating his competition by almost two copies to one by the end of the week.

David Bowie drops one place to three with The Next Day, followed by longrunner Our Version of Events by Emeli Sandé and Unorthodox Jukebox by Bruno Mars.

The Strokes score their fifth UK Top 10 album with Comedown Machine, which enters at ten.

Eric Clapton’s 20th studio album Old Sock lands at 13, while Worcester group Peace enter at 16 with debut album In Love.

Simple Minds collection Celebrate is a new entry at 19. Joe Bonamassa’s An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera enters at 23.

Lil Wayne’s latest album I Am Not A Human Being II finishes at 29, followed by Iron Maiden’s Maiden England ’88 at 30 and OneRepublic’s Native at 35.

On the compilations chart, Now! 84 has become the fastest-selling album of 2013 so far, shifting a massive 262,000 copies in its first week on sale. However, its predecessor sold 295,000 copies in its first week last year.
