The Grenfell Tower single Bridge Over Troubled Water enters at Number 1 on this week’s Official Singles Chart, just 48 hours after its release.

Released at 8am on Wednesday (June 21), the all-star rendition of Simon & Garkfunkel’s track shifted 170,360 across digital and streaming equivalent sales to take the top spot. The majority of the song’s sales came from downloads, making up just under 169,000 of the total.

The track, which features more than 50 artists including Stormzy, Emeli Sande, Robbie Williams and Paloma Faith had the biggest opening day combined sales of any single this decade, shifting 120k.

The previous biggest day 1 of decade was Adele’s Hello, logging just under 78,000 sales on its first day. The biggest day 1 sales of all time is Elton John’s Candle In The Wind (1997) with 655,000.

Artists For Grenfell’s Bridge Over Troubled Water is now the second fastest-selling single of the year, second to Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You, which opened with 226,808 back in January.

The song knocks Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s Despacito from Number 1 after six weeks at the summit and finishes 69,000 combined sales behind Bridge Over Troubled Water.

New entries and high climbers

DJ Khaled debuts at Number 3 with his Rihanna and Bryson Tiller collaboration Wild Thoughts, marking the producers second Top 5 single in two months after the chart-topping I’m The One. The entry also gives Rihanna her 30^th Top 10 single.

Meanwhile, Little Mix’s Power ft. Stormzy lifts three places to Number 10, earning the girl group their 11^th Top 10 single.

Rita Ora’s Your Song reaches a new peak, jumping four spots to 11, and Camila Cabello’s Crying In The Club jumps three places to sneak into this week’s Top 20 at Number 20.

Finally, Calvin Harris is new at 21 with Feels ft. Pharrell, Katy Perry and Big Sean, his 30^th Top 40 hit on the Official Singles Chart, and Selena Gomez’s Bad Liar rebounds 20 places back into the Top 40 at 33.

There’s no displacing Despacito – the longest reigning foreign-language Number 1, from Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee secures a sixth week at the top.

The track, which features guest vocals from Justin Bieber, sold 38,620 downloads and racked up 8.39 million streams in the last seven days.

This week’s highest new entry also comes from Justin Bieber – he teamed up with David Guetta on 2U, straight in at Number 5, returning Guetta to the Top 10 for the first time in two years.

Along with former chart-topper from DJ Khaled’s I’m The One (7), which also features Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, Justin has three songs in this week’s Top 10.

Chart highlights

Charlie Puth’s Attention rises one to return to the Top 10, while Little Mix enjoy this week’s biggest boost. Following the release of its music video, Power, which features Stormzy, rockets 22 places to 13.

Sigala and Ella Eyre are new at 26 with Came Here For Love, while Major Lazer’s Know No Better, feat. Travis Scott, former Fifth Harmony star Camila Cabello and Quavo, rises 13 to break the Top 40 at 35.

Also edging into the Top 40 this week are Imagine Dragons with Thunder, up 11 to 38; and Lil Uzi Vert who scores his very first UK hit with XO TOUR Llif3, up 7 places to land at Number 39.

Ariana Grande’s One Last Time has reached a new peak on the Official Singles Chart, soaring into the Top 3 for the very first time.

Recently re-released as a charity single, the track achieved 2.9 million streams and 61,000 downloads to finish at Number 2 on this week’s chart. A majority of proceeds from the song will go to the We Love Manchester fund, which was the focus of Ariana’s One Love Manchester benefit concert held last week.

One Last Time originally peaked at Number 24 back in 2014, and soared to Number 11 two weeks ago following the terrorist attack that claimed the lives of 22 people. Its new peak position makes it Ariana’s 5th Top 10 single.

Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s Despacito holds on to the top spot for a fifth consecutive week, with 8.8 million streams and 43,000 downloads logged in the last seven days. One song breaks into this week’s Top 5 for the first time; French Montana’s Unforgettable featuring Swae Lee hops one spot to Number 5.

New entries and high climbers

There are two more notable gains in this week’s Top 10, the first being Jonas Blue’s Mama. The collaboration with YouTube star William Singe flies two ranks to Number 6. Niall Horan’s Slow Hands vaults 14 places into the Top 10 at Number 7, beating the Number 9 peak of his debut single This Town.

The Chainsmokers and Coldplay’s Something Just Like This rockets nine placings to Number 16 this week following Coldplay’s performance of the song at One Love Manchester. Liam Gallagher, who also performed at the event, sees his solo single Wall of Glass enter the Top 40 at Number 21, while Oasis’ classic chart-topper Don’t Look Back In Anger returns to the Top 40 for the first time since May 1996. It’s made a gain of 41 slots this week to reach Number 25.

Finally, Camila Cabello’s first headline solo single since leaving Fifth Harmony, Crying In The Club, climbs 23 rungs to a new peak at Number 23.

Liar Liar, the song criticising Prime Minster Theresa May by Captain Ska has made its debut on the Official Singles Chart.

The track enters at Number 4 on this week’s Top 40, giving the seven-piece London band this week’s highest new entry.

Liar Liar has been scaling the Official Chart all week, ahead of the General Election on June 8. The song was originally released in 2010 in response to the coalition government, but band recorded a new version of their track that includes soundbites from several of May’s speeches and the lyrics: “She’s a liar liar, you can’t trust her, no, no, no”.

Sales of Liar Liar are being driven by downloads, with 42,000 people picking up a digital download of the track this week, while the song has so far been streamed just over 300,000 times.

The song’s music video, which includes statistics on UK poverty levels and references to school and police cuts, is now has almost two million views on YouTube.

British producer Jonas Blue claims his third Top 10 single this week with Mama ft. William Singe, up four places from last week to Number 8. Close behind is Rita Ora – her first headline single in two years Your Song debuts at 13.

Further down, Little Mix’s Power ft. Stormzy makes its debut at Number 27. The track is the fourth single from their chart-topping Glory Days album and earns the group at 17^th Top 40 hit.

Ariana Grande’s One Last Time has re-entered the Top 40 on this week’s Official Singles Chart as the UK remembers the victims of the attack at her Manchester concert.

The song launches back in at Number 11 today, sending it to a new chart peak.

One Last Time was a single from Ariana’s second album My Everything and originally peaked at Number 24 in June 2015.

Ariana’s latest album Dangerous Woman also climbs back up the Official Albums Chart, rising 32 places to Number 30.

Six dates from Ariana’s Dangerous Woman tour have been cancelled following the attack, including her two dates at London’s O2 Arena on May 25 and 26.

A statement from her team said time is needed to “assess the situation and pay our proper respects to those lost.” It is hoped she will resume the tour in early June.

Despite some strong competition from Liam Payne, Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s Despacito remix ft. Justin Bieber has held on to claim a third week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart.

Meanwhile, DJ Khaled’s I’m The One ft. Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance The Rapper and Lil Wayne holds at 2 for a third week, and former One Direction star Liam Payne enters at Number 3 with his debut single Strip That Down ft. Quavo.

Charlie Puth earns his third UK Top 10 with his latest single Attention, which lifts from 12 to 9. Jonas Blue’s Mama ft. William Singe leaps ten places to 12, and two songs crack the Top 20: Pretty Girl by rising star Maggie Lindemann jumps up four spots to 17, and Cheat Codes’ No Promises ft. Demi Lovato climbs seven places to Number 18.

Further down, Selena Gomez lands her tenth UK Top 40 hit with Bad Liar (35), and two new Katy Perry tracks close out this week’s Top 40: Bon Appetit rebounds eight places to 37, and Swish Swish ft. Nicki Minaj debuts at 40.
