Congratulations to Post Malone and 21 Savage who both scoop their very first Official Singles Chart Number 1 with Rockstar.

The lead single from Post Malone’s upcoming second album Beerbongs & Bentleys, Rockstar rises from last week’s runner-up slot to end Sam Smith’s reign at the top, accumulating a huge 5.7 million streams this week.

Post Malone has more to celebrate as he also bookends the Official Singles Chart Top 40 – I Fall Apart from his debut album Stoney is this week’s Number 40.

Elsewhere in the Top 5, Sam Smith’s Too Good at Goodbyes slips to Number 2, Camila Cabello’s Havana gains ground up a place at Number 3, Dua Lipa’s New Rules drops a spot to Number 4, and Avicii and Rita Ora’s Lonely Together vaults three positions to Number 5.

New entries and high climbers

Two tracks break into the Official Singles Chart Top 10 for the first time this week, one of which is Logic’s 1-800-273-8255. Featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid, the suicide prevention track is up three to Number 9. Also climbing three to Number 10 is Bestie, the breakthrough single for Yungen and Yxng Bane.

There is another climb for Stefflon Don and French Montana’s Hurtin Me (a three-rung climber to Number 11), while Love Island’s Chris & Kem are this week’s highest new entry with their grime-inspired rap single Little Bit Leave It (15).

Further down the Top 40, Ed Sheeran’s Perfect re-enters the Top 20 at Number 19 after jumping 15 slots, Khalid makes his second appearance on Marshmello’s Silence, which has zoomed six to Number 20, and Mabel’s Finders Keepers featuring Kojo Funds flies to a new high of 21.

Big Shaq’s Mans Not Hot leaps seven places to Number 23, ahead of Cardi B’s Bodak Yellow, which rises 13 placings to 24. Finally, Khalid makes his third showing in the chart with his first Top 40 entry as a lead artist; Young Dumb & Broke is at Number 38.

Sam Smith’s Too Good At Goodbyes celebrates a third week at Number 1 after an incredibly close race on this week’s Official Singles Chart.

The track, which heads up Sam’s second studio album, keeps its place at the top after finishing just 693 downloads and streaming equivalent sales ahead of Post Malone’s Rockstar ft. 21 Savage, which climbs from 5 to 2. It’s the US rapper’s breakthrough hit in the UK, having previously reached a high of 28 with his last single Congratulations earlier this year.

Elsewhere in this week’s Top 5, Dua Lipa’s New Rules slips a place to 3, Camila Cabello leaps from 7 to Number 4 with Havana, and CNCO & Little Mix are up a spot to 5 with Reggaeton Lenton (Remix) – a return to its previous peak.

New entries and high climbers

US rapper Logic jumps five places to a new high of 12 with 1-800-273-8255 ft. Alessia Cara and Khalid, while there are also new Top 40 peaks for Stefflon Don & French Montana’s Hurtin’ Me, up six places to 14, Maroon 5’s What Lovers Do ft. SZA leaps from 25 to 18, and Katy Perry’s Swish Swish ft. Nicki Minaj enters the Top 20 for the first time, up three places to 19.

Further down, four tracks make their Top 40 debut: rising London star Mabel zooms 23 places to Number 29 with Finders Keeps ft. Kojo Funds, and Mans Not Hot by London rapper Big Shaq debuts at 30.

Paloma Faith notches up her eighth Top 40 today with Crybaby, which vaults 26 places to 36, and US rapper Cardi B breaks the Top 40 with Bodak Yellow. The track, which recently became the first Number 1 in the US by a female rapper in 19 years, lifts nine places to 37.

Finally, Ed Sheeran’s Perfect returns to the Top 40 this week after it was announced as the fourth official single from his ÷ album. The song jumps from 79 to Number 34.

He’s Too Good at Goodbyes but even better at holding on to the top spot – Sam Smith lands a second week at Number 1.

Too Good at Goodbyes is Sam’s sixth chart-topper in the UK, and debuted at the summit last week, kicking off the London star’s comeback campaign for his imminent second album.

Dua Lipa’s New Rules is at 2, Pink goes back up one to 3 with What About Us and Taylor Swift’s Look What You Made Me Do slides to 4.

American rappers Post Malone and 21 Savage are this week’s highest new entry with Rockstar, going straight in at Number 5.

New entries and high climbers

Camila Cabello and Young Thug’s Havana enjoys a new chart peak, rising to Number 7, while Avicii and Rita Ora’s collaboration Lonely Together makes the biggest gains this week. It zooms 11 slots to Number 10, giving the Swedish DJ/producer his ninth Top 10 in the UK and first in over two years, when Waiting For Love peaked at 6 in summer 2015. It’s a 10th Top 10 for Rita.

Stefflon Don and French Montana’s Hurtin’ Me hits a new peak, climbing eight slots to 20, and Niall Horan scores his third solo Top 40 since Once Direction went on hiatus, with Too Much To Ask going in at 24.

Craig David lands a 21st Top 40, as Heartline is new at 35, and American rapper XXXTentacion scores his first ever Top 40 single in the UK, with Jocelyn Flores making a climb to Number 39.

Congratulations to Sam Smith who has gone straight in at Number 1 with Too Good at Goodbyes.

Released last Friday, the lead single from Sam’s as-yet-untitled second album rockets to the top with 4.4 million streams and 33,000 downloads sold. The song is the Londoner’s sixth UK Number 1 following La La La (with Naughty Boy), Money On My Mind, Stay With Me, Lay Me Down (with John Legend) and Writing’s On The Wall.

With six Number 1s now under his belt, Sam joins the likes of Sir Rod Stewart, Queen, Britney Spears and Justin Bieber, who each have six chart toppers. When it comes to British males, only six men have had more songs hit the top spot, they are Cliff Richard, Calvin Harris, George Michael, Elton John, Tinie Tempah and Robbie Williams.

Continuing with the theme of sixes, Too Good at Goodbyes is the sixth song to debut straight in at Number 1 in 2017, following Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You, Harry Styles’ Sign of The Times, DJ Khaled’s I’m The One, Artists for Grenfell’s Bridge Over Troubled Water and Taylor Swift’s Look What You Made Me Do.

Meanwhile, Dua Lipa’s New Rules holds firm at Number 2, Taylor Swift’s Look What You Made Me Do ends its two-week residency at Number 1 (3), and P!nk drops a slot with What About Us at Number 4.

Rounding out this week’s Top 5 is Zayn with his new single Dusk Till Dawn (5). Featuring Sia, the song becomes Zayn’s third UK Top 5 as a soloist, and Sia’s fourth.

New entries and high climbers

Camila Cabello celebrates her first UK Top 10 single as a solo artist with Havana (10), while Chris Brown’s latest offering Questions rises for the fourth straight week, up three to 13.

Logic’s suicide prevention single 1-800-273-8255 breaks into the Top 40 for the first time; featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid, the song is Logic’s first UK Top 40 entry, Alessia’s third and Khalid’s second at Number 16 this week. Further down, Avicii and Rita Ora claim the highest climber within the Top 40 as Lonely Together is boosted 14 levels to Number 21.

There’s a re-entry and new chart peak for Kelly Clarkson’s Piece by Piece at Number 27 following Rebecca Grace’s performance of the song in her X Factor audition last Saturday, and one place behind is Stefflon Don’s Hurtin’ Me featuring French Montana. Propelling 22 positions to Number 28, the song is Stefflon’s first UK Top 40 as a lead artist.

Finally, Jason Derulo’s If I’m Lucky is up two placings to Number 30, and there’s an upward move of four spots for Marshmello’s Silence with Khalid at Number 34.

Taylor Swift’s settling scores and scoring chart feats, as she celebrates two weeks at Number 1 with the vengeful Look What You Made Me Do, her very first UK chart-topper.

Not content with holding onto the kingdom keys of the Official Singles Chart, Taylor also scores this week’s highest new entry, with …Ready For It? going straight in at 7.

Set to be the opening track on Taylor’s forthcoming album Reputation, …Ready For It? makes its Top 10 debut after only 5 days on sale, premiering Sunday after appearing in a US TV commercial.

Chart highlights

J Balvin and Willy William’s Mi Gente hits a new peak this week, rising four places to 5, and Demi Lovato’s Sorry Not Sorry also hits a new personal best, going Top 10 for the first time, after moving up three slots to 9.

Camila Cabello and Young Thug score the highest climber inside the Top 40 for a second week running, as Havana zooms 13 places to 11, and Katy Perry’s Swish Swish hits a new peak, advancing seven slots to 22.

Maroon 5 celebrate a 20th Top 40 hit with What Lovers Do, feat SZA, going in at 23, and Charli XCX sees Boys find a new peak, climbing five to 31.

Jason Derulo lands his 17th Top 40 hit with If I’m Lucky, going in at 32, and Marshmello’s Silence feat Khalid is making a noise, making a chart entry at 38.
