Olly Murs holds on to No.1 album

Olly Murs has held on to the UK number one album with Right Place Right Time.

The X Factor runner-up holds off the challenge of Michael Bublé, who rises two places to two with a repackaged edition of Christmas.

Murs sold a further 103,000 copies in its second week on sale to keep hold of the number one spot.

One Direction slip one to three with Take Me Home, while Rod Stewart climbs a place to four with Merry Christmas Baby. Neil Diamond is up three to five with his Very Best Of collection.

Elsewhere, Pink climbs 17 places to 11 with The Truth About Love. Jools Holland enters at 21 with The Golden Age of Song.

‘Skyfall’ reclaims UK box office top spot

Skyfall has retaken the UK box office number one spot.

The Daniel Craig-starring film took £2.3 million last week, ousting The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2‘s two-week dominance.

The 23rd James Bond‘s success over the past week has also pushed it ahead of Avatar to become the highest-grossing film in UK box office history with takings of just under £94 million.

The fifth and final Twilight movie slipped into second place, taking £2.2 million.

DreamWorks Animation’s Rise of the Guardians was the highest debut of the week, taking the third position with just under £2 million.

Nativity 2: Danger in the Manger! fell from third to fourth place, with Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper’s Silver Linings Playbook rounding off the top five films with £749,055.

The other new releases to arrive on the chart were the new Great Expectations adaptation, in at number six with £749,055, and Talaash at seven with £749,055.

Gambit dropped rapidly from 5th to 13th place, taking only £127,946.

‘Football Manager 2013’ continues PC chart reign

Football Manager 2013

Football Manager 2013 has extended its reign at the top of the PC chart.

Sports Interactive’s latest management sim remains top despite the release of Ubisoft’s open-world shooter Far Cry 3.

Elsewhere, XCOM: Enemy Unknown climbs nine places to re-enter the chart at nine, between The Sims 3: Supernatural and Hitman: Absolution.

Olly Murs wins second No.1 album to score chart double

Olly Murs has scored his second UK number one album with Right Place Right Time.

The former X Factor runner-up sold 127,000 copies of his third studio LP to follow last year’s In Case You Didn’t Know.

He also follows Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams and One Direction by achieving a UK chart double in 2012, with ‘Troublemaker’ holding on to the singles top spot.

One Direction stay at number two with former chart-topper Take Me Home. Last week’s number one Unapologetic by Rihanna dips two to three.

Michael Bublé’s repackaged edition of Christmas is up one to four, while Rod Stewart’s Merry Christmas, Baby also rises one place to five.

Neil Diamond’s Very Best Of collection lands at eight, while Girls Aloud’s greatest hits compilation Ten is new at nine.
