FIFA 15 holds Shadow of Mordor off top of chart

FIFA 15 has retained its place at the top of the all-format gaming chart.

The annual football simulation remains number one despite a 70% drop in week-on-week sales.

It is followed by a trio of new releases, starting with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor in second, which enjoys the biggest launch for a game based on The Lord of the Rings.

Forza Horizon 2 enters in third, while Super Smash Bros debuts in fourth above a former number one in Destiny.

Elsewhere, the PlayStation edition of Minecraft climbs three places to six after a 176% increase in sales thanks to the release of the PS4 version at retail.

Meghan Trainor’s ‘All About That Bass’ claims UK number one

Meghan Trainor has claimed the UK’s number one single with ‘All About That Bass’.

The song climbs 32 places from last week, also becoming one of the fastest-selling singles of the year, only beaten by Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne’s ‘Rather Be’.

Trainor said: “It feels unreal! I still don’t believe it! Especially on my first single. It’s incredible!”

Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj fall to number two with ‘Bang Bang’, while ‘Shake It Off’ by Taylor Swift completes the top three.

Sigma featuring Paloma Faith are at number 4 with ‘Changing’, and ‘Blame’ by Calvin Harris and John Newman is at number five.

The Magician enters the chart at seven with ‘Sunlight’ featuring Olly Alexander, while Labrinth is at number 11 with ‘Let It Be’.

Ella Eyre takes number 12 with ‘Comeback’, and Gorgon City’s ‘Unmissable’ makes the top 20 at number 19.

Jessie Ware’s ‘Say You Love Me’ enters the chart at number 22, while Jamie T climbs 12 places with ‘Zombie’ at number 36.
