Mumford & Sons’ ‘Babel’ returns to top of UK albums chart

Sunday, July 7th, 2013

Glastonbury headliners Mumford & Sons have seen their 2012 album Babel return to number one.

The LP climbed 15 places to clinch the top spot in its 41st week on the Official Albums Chart.

Babel sold just 150 more copies than Michael Bublé’s To Be Loved, which rises two spots to two.

Mumford & Sons’ debut album Sigh No More also climbed 25 places to 12.

Last week’s number one Tom Odell dropped to number three with Long Way Down, while Jake Bugg, who also performed at Glastonbury, saw his self-titled album climb one place to four.

The top five is rounded off by Rod Stewart’s Time.

The Glastonbury effect also impacted fellow headliners Arctic Monkeys, with their debut album Whatever People Say That’s What I’m Not finishing the week at number 15, while The Rolling Stones’ GRRR! shoots up 29 places to 20.

The highest new entry came this week from Editors, whose fourth studio album The Weight of Your Love debuted at six.
