Sniper Elite 3 remains top of all-format chart

Sniper Elite 3 has retained its place at the top of the all-format gaming chart.

Like its predecessor, Sniper Elite 3 manages a second week at the top of the chart, once again outranking Watch Dogs in second.

FIFA 14 and 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil both enjoy a surge in sales, rising to third and eighth respectively.

Titanfall remains fourth, Wolfenstein stays fifth, while Call of Duty: Ghosts climbs to six.

Nintendo 3DS game Tomodachi Life is one of this week’s biggest movers, jumping five places to 11 following a promotional push.

Despite a lack of new releases, the overall market only dropped by 3% thanks to healthy sales in the budget sector.

Sniper Elite 3 debuts at top of chart

Sniper Elite 3 has overtaken EA Sports UFC at the top of the all-format chart.

The Sniper Elite sequel is the second game in the series to top the chart. Nearly 65% of sales were on Xbox One and PS4.

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs remains second, above EA Sports UFC, Titanfall and Wolfenstein: The New Order.

GRID Autosport is the second highest new entry at seven, above Call of Duty: Ghosts and a Minecraft double bill.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark debuts at 12, sandwiched between 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil and Mario Kart 8.

UFC topples Watch Dogs at top of all-format chart

EA Sports UFC has overtaken Watch Dogs at the top of the all-format gaming chart.

The EA brawler is the firm’s third number one of the year after FIFA 14 and Titanfall.

After three weeks at the top of the chart, Watch Dogs drops to second place, above a resurgent Titanfall in third.

Wolfenstein: The New Order drops to fourth, while FIFA 14 and 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil occupy five and six respectively.

Moto GP 14 is this week’s second highest new entry at 14, above Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil enjoys sales boost

Watch Dogs has retained its place at the top of the all-format chart for a third week running.

It stays top despite a 2014 FIFA World Cup sales surge. EA’s official World Cup tie-in climbs four spots to second as the tournament gets under way.

Wolfenstein: The New Order climbs one spot to third, outselling fourth place Mario Kart 8 by a few hundred copies.

FIFA 14 remains fifth, above Tiitanfall, Minecraft: PS3 Edition and Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Enemy Front is this week’s only new entry at 19, sandwiched between LEGO: The Hobbit and Terraria.

Watch Dogs remains top of gaming chart

Watch Dogs has retained its place at the top of the all-format games chart.

Despite experiencing an 81% drop in sales, Ubisoft’s open-world action title is the firm’s first game since Ghost Recon: Future Soldier to top the chart for two weeks running.

It is once again followed by Mario Kart 8 in second, while Murdered: Soul Suspect debuts at three just 400 sales behind.

Fellow new entries Wildstar and Tomodachi Life both debut in the top 20, charting at 14 and 15 respectively.

As the world’s biggest football tournament prepares to kick off later this week, 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil remains sixth, below Wolfenstein: The New Order and FIFA 14.

Watch Dogs enjoys record-breaking launch week

Watch Dogs has broken a number of week one sales records to become the UK’s new all-format number one.

The open-world hacking game is the best-selling new franchise since LA Noire back in 2011, outselling Rockstar’s crime thriller by 58%.

Enjoying the 17th best launch week of all time, the game’s week one sales are behind only to new titles in the FIFA, Grand Theft Auto and Battlefield series.

Watch Dogs is also Ubisoft’s biggest UK launch, outperforming previous record-breaker Assassin’s Creed 3 by 17%.

It contributed to a 94% weekly boost in PS4 hardware sales, with 53% of PS4 console buyers purchasing the Watch Dogs bundle.

It comfortably beats fellow new entry Mario Kart 8 into second, although the Wii U release also enjoyed a healthy first week.

Nintendo’s latest racer is the best-selling week one Wii U game and the second biggest-selling Mario Kart at launch.

Its release boosted week-to-week Wii U console sales by 666%. 82% of new buyers purchased the Mario Kart 8 bundle.

Elsewhere, Wolfenstein: The New Order drops to third, above FIFA 14 and Minecraft PS3 Edition.

At the tail-end of the chart, the PlayStation Vita edition of Borderlands 2 is a new entry at 18.

Wolfenstein enjoys second biggest launch of year

Wolfenstein: The New Order is this year’s second biggest gaming launch behind Titanfall.

Accounting for a quarter of all last week’s software sales, the sixth game in the Wolfenstein series replaces FIFA 14 at the top of the chart, selling the majority of its copies on PS4.

It is followed by Minecraft: PS3 Edition in second, while FIFA 14 and Titanfall drop to third and fourth.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil remains fifth, above Call of Duty: Ghosts, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Battlefield 4 and The Lego Movie Videogame also chart in the top-ten.

Elsewhere, Forza Motorsport 5 re-enters at 19, sandwiched between Infamous: Second Son and Thief.

FIFA 14 overtakes Titanfall to set new UK chart record

FIFA 14 has overtaken Titanfall to return to the top of the all-format gaming chart.

It’s FIFA 14‘s 12th week as number one, breaking the 11 week series record set by FIFA: Road to the World Cup 98.

Only a few hundred sales behind, Titanfall slips to second, above the debuting Minecraft: PS3 Edition in third and its Xbox 360 counterpart in fourth.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil and Call of Duty: Ghosts remain in fifth and sixth, above The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which drops four places despite the release of the Xbox One version.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe is this week’s second highest new entry at 16, charting above Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag and Thief.

Titanfall outsells FIFA 14 to top UK gaming chart

Titanfall has edged out FIFA 14 to return to the top of the UK all-format gaming chart.

The Respawn shooter outsold FIFA 14 by less than 400 copies to reclaim top spot from The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Activision’s Amazing Spider-Man movie tie-in drops to third, above Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil in fourth and fifth.

Bound by Flame is this week’s only new entry at 12, clocking up 75% of its sales on PS4.

Trials Fusion drops one spot to prop up the chart at 20, below Batman: Arkham Origins and South Park: The Stick of Truth at 18 and 19.

Amazing Spider-Man topples Titanfall in UK games chart

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has ended Titanfall‘s reign at the top of the all-format chart.

Activision’s Spider-Man movie tie-in is the firm’s first number one since Call of Duty: Ghosts. It charts higher than 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man, despite a 5% drop in sales.

Titanfall drops one place to second, above a football double-header of FIFA 14 in third and 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil in fourth.

Ubisoft’s Child of Light is this week’s second highest new entry at nine, charting between The LEGO Movie Video Game and Battlefield 4.

The Deluxe Edition retail release contains bonus items and collectibles, as well as a download code for the game itself.

Dark Souls 2 benefits from the launch of the PC version, climbing four places from 18 to 14. It is followed by Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and Infamous: Second Son.

Mario Golf: World Tour narrowly fails to break the top-20, charting at 22 in its first week on sale.
