Black Ops 3 beats FIFA 16 and Star Wars Battlefront

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the all-format number one for the fifth week running.

With no new physical releases until later this month, it was another chart tussle between Black Ops 3, FIFA 16 – which climbs to second – and Star Wars: Battlefront in third.

GTA 5 and Fallout 4 swap places at four and five, while Rainbow Six: Siege, WWE 2K16 and Just Cause 3 can be found at six, seven and eight.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate drops two places to nine, while a massive Xbox 360 and PS3 price cut sees Battlefield 4 re-enter the chart at ten.

Call of Duty tops the gaming chart for a fourth week running

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Fallout 4, FIFA 16 and Star Wars: Battlefront ​are once again battling it out at the top of the all-format gaming chart.

But of course there can only be one winner, and for the fourth week running – and fifth time overall – it’s Black Ops 3 that takes the top spot.

In fact, Activision’s shooter is only one week away from matching FIFA 16‘s six week reign at the top of the gaming chart.

It’s once again followed by Star Wars: Battlefront in second, while Fallout 4 and FIFA 16 swap places in third and fourth.

GTA 5, Rainbow Six: Siege and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate follow at five, six and seven, while Just Cause 3, WWE 2K16 and Forza 6 complete the top ten.

Black Ops 3 tops the New Year gaming chart

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will celebrate the New Year as the all-format number one.

Having already topped the chart at Christmas, Black Ops 3 retains its place in an unchanged top three.

Star Wars: Battlefront continues in second, while FIFA 16 remains third and Fallout 4 holds on to fourth. GTA 5 is the biggest mover, climbing three places to fifth.

Just Cause 3, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Minecraft Story Mode occupy sixth, seventh and eighth, while Rainbow Six: Siege and WWE 2K16 complete the top ten.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the number one Xmas game

The race for the 2015 Christmas number one is over, and ​it’s good news for Call of Duty.

Black Ops 3 has retained its place at the top of the all-format gaming chart, making it the sixth Call of Duty to top the chart at Christmas.

The PS4 version of Star Wars: Battlefront PS4 was actually the single biggest-selling game of the week, but Black Ops 3 made more combined sales.

Battlefront, therefore, must settle for second place, while FIFA 16 remains third and Fallout 4 holds on to fourth.

Minecraft Story Mode, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Just Cause 3 chart at five, six and seven, while GTA 5, Rainbow Six: Siege and Uncharted Collection make up the remainder of the top ten.

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 overtakes FIFA 16

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is close to being crowned the 2015 Christmas number one.​

In a topsy-turvy week at the top of the chart, Black Ops 3 climbs one place to number one, Star Wars: Battlefront moves up to second, while last week’s number one FIFA 16 drops down to third.

Fallout 4 moves up to fourth, above Minecraft Story Mode, Just Cause 3 and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

GTA 5, Rainbow Six: Siege and WWE 2K16 also appear in the top ten, while Football Manager 2016 reappears at 18.

FIFA 16 closes in on the Christmas number one

FIFA 16 is closing in on the Christmas number one spot, after spending a second consecutive week at the top of the all-format gaming chart.

The annual footy sim returned to the top during Black Friday week, and remained there despite a 41% drop in sales.

It’s once again followed by Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 in second and Star Wars: Battlefront in third.

Just Cause 3 is this week’s highest new entry at four, followed by Fallout 4 and fellow chart debutant Rainbow Six: Siege.

Minecraft Story Mode, GTA 5, Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection and WWE 2K16 also appear in the top ten.

Star Wars: Battlefront tops the all-format gaming chart

Another week, another brand new all-format number one – this time in the form of Star Wars: Battlefront.

Turns out it’s the biggest ever launch for a Star Wars game, more than doubling week one sales of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

It’s also the fourth biggest launch of the year behind the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Fallout 4 – which this week chart at second and third. ​Nearly 60% of Battlefront sales were made on PS4, compared to 39% for Xbox One and 2% for PC. 

FIFA 16 dropped to fourth, despite a 14% increase in sales. It charts above Rise of the Tomb RaiderLEGO Dimensions and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

Minecraft Story Mode, WWE 2K16 and Need for Speed also appeared in the top ten.

Fallout 4 has the third biggest launch of the year

Fallout 4 has debuted at the top of the all-format gaming chart.

The open-world role-playing game is the third biggest launch of the year so far, behind only FIFA 16 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

In fact, week one sales are up by a whopping 213% on Fallout: New Vegas. It made 53% of sales on PS4, 41% on Xbox 360 and 6% on PC.

It’s followed by Black Ops 3 and FIFA 16 in second and third, and Rise of the Tomb Raider in fourth.

Minecraft: Story Mode and Need for Speed occupy fifth and sixth, while Football Manager 2016 debuts at seven. LEGO Dimensions, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Halo 5 also appear in the top ten.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 tops gaming chart

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has topped the all-format chart, knocking Halo 5: Guardians all the way down to fourth.

Launching on a Friday for the first time since 2009, the latest Call of Duty is the seventh biggest-selling game in the series in terms of week-one sales, and the 14th biggest-seller overall.

Approximately 91% of sales were made on Xbox One and PS4, compared to 68% for Advanced Warfare.

FIFA 16 moves up one place to second, above Need for Speed, which debuts at three.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Minecraft: Story Mode, WWE 2K16, GTA 5, LEGO Dimensions and Call of Duty: Ghosts also appear in the top ten.

ASDA’s £49 2DS and Mario Kart 7 bundle helped the Nintendo racer re-enter the chart at 14.

Halo 5: Guardians outsells Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

Master Chief finds himself at the top of the all-format gaming chart with Halo 5: Guardians.

Halo 5 generated 50% more week-one sales than Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, as well as last year’s Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Ubisoft’s London-based Assassin’s Creed drops down to second, above FIFA 16 in third and WWE 2K16 at four.

The latest WWE game outsells its predecessor by 3-to-1 in terms of week one sales. It’s followed by another new entry in Minecraft: Story Mode.

GTA 5, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Watch Dogs, LEGO Dimensions and LEGO Jurassic World also appear in the top ten.
