FIFA 18 holds off competition from Forza

Monday, October 9th, 2017

It’s unsurprising that FIFA 18 debuted at number one on the UK charts, but since then another big game has been released: Forza Motorsport 7. Unfortunately for Turn 10 and Microsoft, though, FIFA has staved off this competition to hang onto the top spot for another week.

Forza instead parks itself in second place, just ahead of predecessor Forza Horizon 3 in third. Destiny 2 is still going strong as well, coming in at number four, and the unstoppable GTA V is just behind that at five.

For the full top 10 list, look down below:

2. Forza Motorsport 7 / Microsoft
3. Forza Horizon 3 / Microsoft

Sitting just behind Destiny 2 is Project Cars 2, another sequel with a good result in terms of sales, and NBA 2K18 sits in third place after its own number two debut last week. Pokkén Tournament DX is another debut that’s sat itself nicely in the top 10 as well, with a number 5 position.

Destiny 2 fights off new releases

Monday, September 18th, 2017

The release schedule is really starting to heat up. With plenty of new releases, it was still Destiny 2 that came out on top.

In spite of losing much its first week sales (-71%), Bungie’s latest release took number one (PS4) and two (Xbox One) in the individual format list. The fight for the second place was a close one. NBA 2K18 won PES 2018 by just 1,500 units, thanks to the biggest launch week ever for a basketball game in the country. This is also the highest position ever attained by the franchise. Meanwhile, EA Sports also had something new this week, with NHL 18 debuting at 23rd.

Also in the Top 10 were Dishonored: Death of the Outsider and Metroid: Samus Returns, and surprisingly Rayman: Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch almost made it (#11), a new version of the same old game with just a few additions. Ubi keeps doing well with the Switch, since Mario + Rabbids is holding on to its spot in the top twenty.

All Formats:

1. Destiny 2 / Activision
2. NBA 2K18 / 2K Sports (new)
3. Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 / Konami (new)
4. Fallout 4 / Bethesda
5. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy / Sony
6. Dishonored: Death of the Outsider / Bethesda
7. Grand Theft Auto V / Rockstar
8. Metroid: Samus Returns / Nintendo
9. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy / Activision
10. Forza Horizon 3 / Microsoft

Individual Formats:

Destiny 2 goes straight to the top of the gaming charts

Monday, September 11th, 2017

This has to be one of the most obvious news pieces all year, as Destiny 2 did as expected, and sold very well last week. We’ve heard that the game has sold “incredibly well” digitally, and the physical versions have done great in the UK as well, going straight to the top of the charts.

Meanwhile, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy continues to do well for Sony and Naughty Dog, while Knack 2 will have to make do with twelfth place. The other noteworthy release last week was Monster Hunter Stories, but that was never close to joining the top ten with its twenty-fourth place. Besides that, there’s not too many noteworthy changes on the list, except for Bethesda continuing to have a trio of games on there. Below is the top 10 in full:

1. Destiny 2 / Activision
2. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy / Sony
3. Forza Horizon 3 / Microsoft
4. Grand Theft Auto V / Rockstar
5. Fallout 4 / Bethesda
6. Crash Bandicoot: Nsane Trilogy / Activision
7. F1 2017 / Codemasters
8. Dishonored 2 / Bethesda
9. Doom / Bethesda
10. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle / Ubisoft

Mario + Rabbids fail to top Uncharted

Monday, September 4th, 2017

Last week was filled with interesting video game releases, including Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, ARK: Survival Evolved, Everybody’s Golf, and Yakuza Kiwami. All of these sold fairly well and managed to make the top ten on the British sales charts. However, none of them managed to top Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which continues to be the best-selling game. According to Chart-track it was a very narrow win. Other new releases didn’t fare as well with Maximum Games’ Dead Alliance and Capcom’s Resident Evil: Revelations HD just making it into the top 40 at 39 and 40 respectively.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy dethrones Crash from the charts

Tuesday, August 29th, 2017

For a long time it has been Crash Bandicoot: Nsane Trilogy that has held the top spot in the UK sales charts, but now it’s finally time for the mascot to step aside, and give way for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Not a bad result for a standalone game that was originally planned as a DLC for Uncharted 4, and Naughty Dog will no doubt be pleased with that result

Codemasters’ racer F1 2017 also beat Crash Bandicoot, and Madden NFL 18 is another new entry that’s cracked the top 10, sitting in fourth place, just behind Crash Bandicoot’s new position of third.

Feel free to check out the top 10 in full down below:

1. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy / Sony
2. F1 2017 / Codemasters
3. Crash Bandicoot: N Sane Trilogy / Activision
4. Madden NFL 18 / EA

Monday, August 14th, 2017

Bethesda’s promotions, however, mean that their games are still very much present in the top 10, with Fallout 4 coming in at 2, Dishonored 2 at 4, and Doom just below that, however, all three of these saw drops of at least 6% in terms of sales, whereas Crash lost just 1%. Grand Theft Auto is still going strong at 3 as well, as is Splatoon 2, which stays in sixth place.

All Formats:

1. Crash Bandicoot: Nsane Trilogy / Activision
2. Fallout 4 / Bethesda
3. Grand Theft Auto V / Rockstar
