DreamWorks Animation has announced an ambitious new project which combines both computer-generated images and traditional hand-drawn animation.

Me And My Shadow will be helmed by Chicken Little director Mark Dindal and produced by both Teresa Cheng and Melissa Cobb.

The film will tell the story of a shadow bored of being attached to an uninteresting human named Stanley, and decides to take control of his human in order to find some excitement.

The so-called ‘shadow world’ will be depicted in traditional animation, while the human world will instead be purely animated using CGI.

Me And My Shadow is due to be released in March 2013.

Brittany from Glee

Warner Bros. has denied rumours that Glee star Heather Morris is being lined up to take on the role of Buffy in the studio’s upcoming film.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the studio will remake Buffy The Vampire Slayer without series creator Joss Whedon, and Morris has recently been linked to the movie’s lead role.

“We’re not even thinking about casting yet,” The Hollywood Reporter quotes screenwriter Whit Anderson as saying. “The script isn’t even written!”

Morris is best known for her role as cheerleader Brittany on Glee. She was upgraded to series regular for the show’s second season after becoming popular with fans.

There have been no official announcements from Warner Bros. regarding casting for Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

Rick Grimes from 'The Walking Dead'

The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has revealed that he may be less involved with the zombie drama’s forthcoming second season.

The writer told Comic Book Resources that he would have to divide his time between the show and the original comic that inspired it.

“I’ll continue to be an executive producer,” he confirmed. “With TV, it’s very tempting to work more on [a show] and have a more active hand, but it’s always going to be based upon how much time I have to devote to it.”

He continued; “If I have the time, I would like to be more involved [but] if I see that my comics aren’t coming up and artists are waiting on scripts and things are starting to become a bit of a disaster, I’ll back off [the show], just because I know it’s in good hands.”

Blue Valentine

The Motion Picture Association of America has announced its decision to overturn the NC-17 rating previously given to Blue Valentine.

The forthcoming release – which stars Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams – was originally deemed an adult film based on its inclusion of “scenes of explicit sexual content”.

However, MPAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Kaltman revealed that the drama will now revert to an R rating when it hits theatres later this month, due to appeals from Harvey Weinstein on behalf of the Weinstein & Co production company, who are responsible for releasing the film.

The appeals board also listened to testimony from ratings board chairman Joan Graves, reports The AP.

Blue Valentine will be released in the US on December 31.

The Dark Knight composer Hans Zimmer has denied reports that he will provide the score for Zack Snyder’s Superman.

Zimmer, whose Batman director Christopher Nolan is producing the Superman revamp, told The Hollywood Reporter that rumours of his involvement sprang from a “dirty quote taken out of context”.

“Let’s just be absolutely straight here: I have never in my life met Zack Snyder. I think I need to give him a ring,” he said.

Zimmer added that his “heart belongs to Batman” and compared replacing John Williams’s music to rewriting Beethoven.
