X-Men: Apocalypse has gone straight to the top of the US Box Office, after taking $65m in its first weekend in cinemas.
The superhero film fought off competition from Mia Wasikowska and Johnny Depp’s Alice Through The Looking Glass, which is also new on the charts with $28m.
Meanwhile, last week’s number one The Angry Birds Movie is down to 3 with $18.7m, and Captain America: Civil War is at 4 with £15m.
Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising is at 5 with $9m, The Jungle Book is at 6 with $6.9m and The Nice Guys is at 7 with $6.3m.
Jodie Foster’s Money Monster is at 8 with $4m, and Love and Friendship is at 9 with $2.4m.
Finally, animation Zootopia rounds out the top ten with $0.8m.
