Kung Fu Panda 3 has won the top spot in this week’s US box office chart.
The third instalment in the comedy franchise, which stars Jack Black as high-kicking panda Po, came in as a new entry and went straight to the top, taking $41,000,000.
The animation knocked last week’s chart-topper, The Revenant, into second place, as it earned $12,400,000.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens slipped one place into number three after taking $10,782,000, while disaster film The Finest Hours was a new entry at number four with earnings of $10,327,000.
Ride Along 2 rounds out the top five, with $8,345,520, and The Boy falls one spot into number six, with earnings of $7,894,000.
Dirty Grandpa is at number seven with $7,575,000 while The 5th Wave is down to number eight after taking $7,000,000.
There’s another new entry at number nine, with parody movie Fifty Shades of Black entering the charts with $6,186,648.
The top ten is completed by 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, which earned $6,000,000 this week.
