Chris Colfer has signed to star in an upcoming film that he wrote.
The Glee star will play the lead role in Struck by Lightning, a coming-of-age indie comedy.
Youth in Revolt helmer David Permut has agreed to direct the project, reports Variety.
Permut compared Colfer’s script to the movies of late writer-director John Hughes.
Colfer and Permut plan to begin shooting the project next summer during Colfer’s time off from Glee.
