San Andreas has taken the US box office by storm, claiming $53m in its opening weekend.
Brad Peyton’s disaster movie, which stars Dwayne Johnson, knocks George Clooney’s Tomorrowland off top spot.
Elsewhere, Rebel Wilson’s Pitch Perfect 2 stays at two with $14.38m, Tomorrowland is down to three with $13.8m and Mad Max: Fury Road is at four with $13.6m.
Avengers: Age of Ultron stays at five, while Bradley Cooper’s Aloha is new in at six with $10m.
Horror remake Poltergeist is at seven with $7.8m and Far From The Madding Crowd is at eight with $1.4m.
Reese Witherspoon’s Hot Pursuit is at nine with $1.37m, while Home rounds out the top ten with $1.15m.
