Jurassic World is still a monster hit at the box office, retaining the number one spot in its second week.

The sequel took $102m to remain top, taking its total US earnings to $398m.

Missing out on number one, Pixar’s Inside Out – starring Amy Poehler – arrives at two with $91m.

Elsewhere, Melissa McCarthy’s Spy is at three with $10.5m, San Andreas is at four with $8.2m and Dope is new at five with $6m.

Horror sequel Insidious Chapter 3 is at six with $4.1m, while Pitch Perfect 2 is at seven with $3.3m.

Meanwhile, Tom Hardy’s Mad Max: Fury Road is at eight with $2.8m, while Avengers: Age of Ultron is at nine with $2.7m.

Finally, Tomorrowland rounds out the top ten with $2m.

Jurassic World has dominated the US box office in its opening weekend, taking over $200 million.

The dinosaur blockbuster starring Chris Pratt took $204.6m, giving it the second biggest domestic opening in history after The Avengers‘ $207.4m in 2012.

Jurassic World sends comedy film Spy down to number two with $16m, while disaster movie San Andreas moves down to three with $11m.

Insidious Chapter 3 falls to four with $7.3m, as Pitch Perfect 2‘s $6m places the sequel at number five.

Entourage is at six with $4.3m, and Mad Max: Fury Road takes seven with $4.1m.

Number eight goes to Avengers: Age of Ultron with $3.6m, while Disney’s Tomorrowland lands at nine with $3.4m.

Finally, Love & Mercy rounds out the top ten films of the week with $1.7m.

Spy has knocked San Andreas off the top of the US box office, taking $30m in its opening weekend.

The Melissa McCarthy comedy narrowly beat the Dwayne Johnson action thriller, which took $26.4m.

Elsewhere, horror sequel Insidious: Chapter Three is new at three with $23m and Entourage arrives at four with $10.4m.

Tom Hardy’s Mad Max: Fury Road is at five with $7.9m, while Rebel Wilson’s Pitch Perfect 2 is at six with $7.7m.

Meanwhile, Tomorrowland is at seven with $7m and Avengers: Age of Ultron is at eight with $6.2m.

Aloha and horror remake Poltergeist are at nine and ten with $3.3m and $2.8m respectively.

Brad Peyton’s disaster movie, which stars Dwayne Johnson, knocks George Clooney’s Tomorrowland off top spot.

Elsewhere, Rebel Wilson’s Pitch Perfect 2 stays at two with $14.38m, Tomorrowland is down to three with $13.8m and Mad Max: Fury Road is at four with $13.6m.

Avengers: Age of Ultron stays at five, while Bradley Cooper’s Aloha is new in at six with $10m.

Horror remake Poltergeist is at seven with $7.8m and Far From The Madding Crowd is at eight with $1.4m.

It looks like it’s the end of the line for the Tron franchise – Disney has decided against moving ahead with the third instalment of the sci-fi series.

The news comes after it was revealed that Tron: Legacy stars Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde, along with director Joseph Kosinski, were set to reprise their roles for the new film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, preparations for filming were already underway in Vancouver before Disney pulled the plug on the project.

The company is reported to want to instead focus on the live adaptation of its animated classics, including the Emma Watson and Dan Stevens version of Beauty and the Beast, following the success of recent hits Cinderella and Maleficent.

2010’s Tron: Legacy brought the franchise to a whole new generation of fans, following 28 years after Jeff Bridges’ cult classic, taking in nearly $400 million worldwide and spawning the animated series Tron: Uprising, which aired from 2012 to 2013 on Disney XD.

The cancellation comes after Disney’s most recent sci-fi film Tomorrowland underperformed at the US box office last weekend.

After a commitment in September 2014, the series was officially picked up by CBS earlier this month. The pilot was scheduled to debut in November, but those plans have now massively unraveled after the episode leaked online, six months earlier than its planned debut.

Two ‘Scene’ release groups – DiMENSiON and LOL – competed to premiere the title first this morning, with the latter beating the former by around 90 seconds. LOL’s version is a convenient 400mb so likely to become the most sought after copy. On the other hand DiMENSiON’s is more than 15 times the size, but for 1080p connoisseurs it’ll be worth the wait.

Although it’s certainly possible that the pilot contains hidden watermarks, as far as visible identifiers go the 46 minute episode looks very clean. As illustrated by the image below, there are no tell-tale ‘property of’ warnings that are regularly seen on ‘screener’ copies of leaked movies.

The leak of the pilot came as a complete surprise a couple of hours ago so download stats on BitTorrent sites are a currently quite modest 25,000 or so. However, given the anticipated media snowball effect during the day the number of downloads is likely to increase dramatically, probably to more than a million by this time tomorrow.

The Supergirl leak comes just weeks after the first four episodes of the new series of Game of Thrones leaked online. That event triggered a piracy crazy that continues to this day.

Whether more episodes of Supergirl will leak online in the days to come is unknown but in any event it seems likely that CBS will try to stem the current tide. The company is a prolific sender of DMCA takedown notices and regularly sends more than 100,000 each week to Google alone.

The Rebel Wilson musical comedy took over $70.3m in its opening weekend, while Tom Hardy’s action sequel entered at number two with $44.4m.

Elsewhere, last week’s number one Avengers: Age of Ultron is down to three with $38.8 and Hot Pursuit is at four with $5.7m.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 stays at five, while Furious 7 is at six with $3.6m.

The Age of Adaline is at seven with $3.2m and Disney’s Home is at eight with $2.7m.

Legends of Tomorrow will bring together heroes including The Atom (Brandon Routh) and Firestorm (Victor Garber) from both of its DC Comics shows beginning in January.

New additions to the series include Arthur Darvill as time traveller Rip Hunter, Ciara Renée as Hawkgirl and Franz Drameh as auto mechanic-turned-hero Jay Jackson.

Legends of Tomorrow brings back Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as Rogues members Captain Cold and Heat Wave as well, while Arrow‘s Caity Lotz returns as the White Canary.

The Upfronts clip also reveals that Legends of Tomorrow‘s main villain will be Vandal Savage, an enemy of the Justice League in DC Comics dating back to 1944.

Other newsworthy elements from the teaser include footage of the deceased Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) being brought back to life in Ra’s al Ghul’s Lazarus Pit, and The Atom demonstrating his shrinking ability for the first time.

CBS has unveiled its primetime schedule for the 2015-16 season, including Supergirl, The Big Bang Theory and NCIS.

The network’s highly-anticipated drama Supergirl will air on Monday nights at 8pm ET from November. This means it will go directly up against Fox’s fellow DC series Gotham.

The Big Bang Theory will temporarily shift to Mondays at 8pm along with new comedy Life in Pieces at 8.30pm. After Thursday Night Football ends in the autumn both shows will move back to Thursdays and leave room for Supergirl.

Scorpion will air at 9pm on Mondays, followed by NCIS: Los Angeles at 10pm.

NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans will be the Tuesday night lead-ins for new drama Limitless, which will air at 10pm.

On Wednesdays, Survivor and Criminal Minds will be followed by new series Code Black at 10pm.

Thursday’s comedy schedule will be completed by Mom at 9pm, followed by new sitcom Angel from Hell at 9.30pm. Elementary continues at 10pm.

The Amazing Race, Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods stay on Friday nights, while The Good Wife and CSI: Cyber will air on Sundays.

Several shows including Person of Interest will return midseason, with CBS expected to announce a full 12-month schedule later this year.

CBS has also confirmed that CSI will come to an end with a two-hour finale movie on September 27.
