The Revenant tops a quiet weekend at the US box office

The Revenant has claimed the US box office following a quiet second week.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s drama knocked Ride Along 2​ off the top spot with $16m.

Elsewhere, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is at two with $14m, having earned a total of $879m in the US.

Last week’s number one Ride Along 2 is down to three with $12.9m, and Robert De Niro’s Dirty Grandpa is new at four with $11.5.

The Boy and The 5th Wave are also new at 5 and 6, earning $11m and $10m respectively.

Meanwhile, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is at 7 with $9.7m and Daddy’s Home is at 8 with $5.7m.

Finally, Norm of the North is at 9 with $4m and The Big Short rounds out the top 10 with $3.5m.​
