Ride Along 2 beats Star Wars at US box-office

The US finally has a new number one film, after Ride Along 2 took $34m to knock Star Wars: The Force Awakens off the top spot after five weeks.

The comedy sequel is new at one, while Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Revenant stays at two and The Force Awakens is at three with $25m.

Meanwhile, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is new at four with $16m, while Daddy’s Home is at five with $9.3m.

Norm of the North is at six with $6.6m and The Forest is at seven with $5.7m.

The Big Short is at eight with $5.2m and Sisters is at nine with $4.4m.

Finally, Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight is at ten with $3.4m.
