Fifty Shades Darker may be the film of choice for S&M lovers, but that hasn’t stopped it from getting another good spanking from The LEGO Batman Movie in this week’s US box office.
The second cinematic outing of EL James’ franchise failed to take the top spot for a second week running, with The LEGO Batman Movie taking in almost twice as much as Christian Grey and Ana Steele’s latest kink-fest.

Falling significantly short of those takings was Fifty Shades Darker, which charted in the number two position for a second week running with $20.9million – but it still managed to beat Matt Damon’s The Great Wall, which took just over $18million in its first week of release.

Batman may have reigned supreme once again this week, but it was a tougher week for our off-screen heroes, as many of this year’s Oscar nominees dropped down the charts.
