US TV network Fox has cancelled Steven Spielberg drama Terra Nova after just one season.

The big budget prehistoric series averaged 7.5 million viewers in the US but failed to do as well as hoped.

But according to The Hollywood Reporter, 20th Century Fox TV will now try to sell it to other networks.

After the premiere was delayed twice, the series finally made it to air in September but got a lukewarm reception from some fans and critics.

The final episode of the first series was shown on 19 December.

The drama starred Jason O'Mara, Stephen Lang, Christine Adams and Shelley Conn.

It was initially set in 2149, at a time when overpopulation and declining air quality threatens life on Earth.

Scientists begin sending people 85 million years into the planet's Cretaceous past.

The drama focused primarily on the lives of the Shannon family as they joined the Terra Nova colony in the prehistoric past.

Terra Nova also aired in the UK on Sky 1.

Hiya Ridd, welcome to the forum

Great to see a familiar name on here (or any name for that matter  ).

I like to keep a few stories exclusive to my own websites which is why I didn't post this one on VCDQ. I did mention on VCDQ that I thought it had been canceleld but was speculating at the time.

'Terra Nova' Christine Adams joins ABC pilot 'Americana'

Christine Adams has signed up for a role in ABC's pilot Americana.

The drama, which has been written by North Country scribe Michael Seitzman, focuses on influential fashion designer Robert Soulter and his family.

The clan is shaken up after the arrival of young designer Alice Clarke.

Adams will play Sierra, Robert's wife and a former supermodel, Deadline reports.

News of Adams's casting comes shortly after it emerged that her previous show Terra Nova - in which she played Mira - has been cancelled by Fox.

Adams has also appeared in shows such as Pushing Daisies and The Whole Truth.

Anthony LaPaglia has already signed up for the role of Robert in Americana, while Alice will be played by Twilight star Ashley Greene.

Ken Olin, Natalie Mendoza, Annabeth Gish and Emilie De Ravin are among the other stars who will appear in Americana.

If regular cast members are signing to do other series that would probably rule out any hope of Terra Nova being sold to another network?

I'm sure they could get her back for at least one ep to write her out. But you're right, if people start jumping ship, it ain't happenin'.

'Terra Nova' star Allison Miller joins Matthew Perry comedy 'Go On'

Image

Terra Nova star Allison Miller has joined the cast of NBC comedy Go On.

Miller - who played Skye in Fox's recently-axed sci-fi drama - will appear opposite Matthew Perry in the pilot, according to Deadline.

Go On will focus on Ryan (Perry), a charming sportscaster who suffers a personal loss and is ordered to attend mandatory therapy sessions.

Miller will play Ryan's quirky assistant. The actress will be billed as a guest star in the pilot, since she has not yet been released from her Terra Nova contract.

20th Century Fox TV is currently shopping Terra Nova to other broadcasters, including Netflix. If the series is not picked up, Miller will be free to join Go On as a series regular.

The actress has previously appeared in episodes of CSI: NY, Boston Legal and Private Practice.

Go On - written by Friends scribe Scott Silveri - will also star Julie White (Transformers) and Suzy Nakamura (Men of a Certain Age).
