NCIS has officially been renewed for an 11th season by CBS.



The show's star Mark Harmon has also signed a contract extension, the network confirmed on Friday (February 1).

"In a world gone niche, NCIS keeps getting bigger, and Mark Harmon continues to define the role of leading man on the number one show on television," said CBS president Leslie Moonves.

"NCIS is the type of franchise every company wants in today's global content ecosystem – high-quality storytelling that generates passionate viewers and drives revenue on every conceivable platform."

NCIS regularly performs well in the ratings, and topped Tuesday night's (January 29) standings with 21.83 million viewers.

The New Normal actress Brighton Sharbino was recently cast as a younger version of Abby Sciuto, and will play the tech expert at the age of 10 in a forthcoming origin episode.
