Battlefield Hardline is biggest launch of the year so far

Battlefield Hardline is the new all-format number one and the biggest launch of the year so far.

The cops and robbers shooter is EA’s first number one of the year, and improves on Battlefield 4‘s second place chart debut.

It is followed by fellow new release Final Fantasy Type-0 in second and GTA 5 in third.

The vast majority of Final Fantasy Type-0 sales were made on PS4. It sold 78% of copies on Sony’s console, compared to just 22% on Xbox One.

It was a busy week for new releases, as Mario Party 10 charts at six and the retail version of Resident Evil Revelations 2 debuts at seven.

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare and a Minecraft double header complete the top ten.
