‘Home’ beats ‘Insurgent’ at UK box office

Home has beaten Insurgent to the top of the UK box office.

The children’s animation, starring Jim Parsons and Rihanna, has claimed £6m since its release on March 20.

Divergent sequel Insurgent secures the number two spot with earnings of £2.9m, while last week’s number one The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel falls to three with £671,000.

Focus is at four, as Sean Penn’s The Gunman rounds out the top five with £405,000.

Run All Night‘s takings of £348,000 lands it at number six, and Suite Francaise falls to number seven.

Still Alice moves to eight, as Fifty Shades of Grey spends its sixth week within the top ten at number nine.

Wild Card debuts at number 10 with £152,000.
