‘Les Misérables’ score keeps album No.1

The Les Misérables soundtrack has remained at the top of the UK album chart.

The score highlights from Tom Hooper’s musical adaptation has held on to the top spot for four weeks in total.

Foals were beaten to number one by less than 1,000 copies with Holy Fire, having led the pack in the midweek chart update. However, it is still the Oxford band’s highest-placing album to date.

Emeli Sandé continues her epic Top 10 run, with Our Version of Events falling one to three. Jake Bugg’s self-titled LP drops two to four, while Mumford & Sons’s Grammys success sees Babel leap 12 places to five.

Bullet for My Valentine’s new album Temper Temper is new at 11. Folk legend Richard Thompson’s new LP Electric lands at 16.

Emilia Mitiku’s I Belong To You is a new entry at 22, followed by Modestep’s Evolution Theory at 23.

Tegan and Sara score their first UK Top 40 placing, with Heartthrob sneaking in at 38.
