Danielle Lloyd 'targeted' by Tesco pyjama ban despite wearing £120 tracksuit

Danielle Lloyd, the glamour model, has complained that Tesco staff tried to bar her from a store after mistaking her designer tracksuit for pyjamas.

The supermarket giant has introduced a dress code banning people from shopping in their pyjamas, it emerged last week.

But Lloyd, 26, said she was wearing a Juicy Couture tracksuit when staff at the Tesco Express in Theydon Bois, Essex, accosted her over her attire.

She said she was eventually allowed in after protesting that she was wearing a £120 tracksuit and not nightwear.

In an online posting, Lloyd said: "Just went to Tesco and the man says to me, 'You can't wear pyjamas in here'.

"I said, 'I ain't got pyjamas on'. He said, 'You sure?' Cheeky :censored: – Juicy tracky, it's Sunday. They must think they're posh. I know I am terrible but I don't care what I wear to the shops."

Tesco was unavailable for comment.

Lloyd, who is engaged to Portsmouth footballer Jamie O'Hara, is launching her own range of tracksuits this spring.

Shopper Elaine Carmody, 24, was one of the first to fall foul of Tesco’s new rules, and was escorted from its store in St Mellons, Cardiff, by a security guard last week.

The dress code also prevents shoppers from entering with bare feet.

The rules were introduced in response to customers complaining that the relaxed shopping habits of some made them uncomfortable and embarrassed.

Quite right too. People should only be allowed into Tesco wearing their Sunday best!

We had a slight flurry in Coventry yesterday. There were drifts as deep as 1/16th or even 1/8th of an inch in places so I expect all council services have been cancelled indefinitely?

Dutchy -

Our snow is unfortunately up to 6inches deep - due to strong winds mainly. Really bad in the coastal towns. Most things at a standstill again :snowman:

I hope your well stocked Polly, especially with tea as that's the most annoying thing to run out of?

What's odd is that a friend living not far from you in Herts hasn't had any snow at all. In fact he's hoping the cold spell will last a few more days so he can claim an extra cold-weather payment.

Apparently towns just 20 mins. away from here have had little or no snow - the coastal towns have been badly hit - which is most unusual. Was on the coast yesterday and had to come home because of the high winds and poor visibility due to the snow.

You only get cold weather payments if you're on certain benefits apparently - so that leaves me out :(

..... and yes - I have plenty of food in thankyou so won't starve - lol.
