Furious 7 tops US box office

Furious 7 has topped the US box office in its debut weekend.

The action thriller starring Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker took $143.6m in a huge opening weekend.

Last week’s number one Home is down to two with $27.4m, and Will Ferrell’s comedy Get Hard is at three with $12.9m.

Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella stays at four with $10.2m, The Divergent Series: Insurgent is at five with $10m and horror It Follows is at six with $2.4m.

Ryan Reynolds’s Woman in Gold is new at seven with $2m and Kingsman: The Secret Service is down to eight with $1.7m.

Do you believe? is at nine with $1.5m, while The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel rounds out the top ten with $1m.
