‘Dumb and Dumber To’ tops US box office

Dumb and Dumber To has debuted at number one on the US box office chart.

The Dumb and Dumber sequel sees Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprise their roles as Lloyd and Harry, who set out on a road trip to find Harry’s long-lost daughter.

The film took over $38m in its first weekend, beating last week’s number one Big Hero 6 by $2m.

Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar is down to three with $29.2m, while Beyond The Lights is new at four.

Gone Girl is at five with $4.6m, and Bill Murray’s St. Vincent stays at six with $4m.

Fury is down two to seven having taken $3.8m, while Jake Gyllenhaal’s Nightcrawler occupies the number eight spot.

Supernatural thriller Ouija is at nine with $3m, and Birdman rounds out the Top 10.
