Christian Bale has reiterated that the next Batman film – The Dark Knight Rises – will be the last in the series.
Bale spoke to MTV News about the highly-anticipated superhero sequel, declaring that he is determined to make the last film in the series the best one.
“[I’m] very excited, because if Chris [Nolan] maintains, this will be the last one,” Bale said. “We’ve got to up it.”
However, Bale confessed that he has not yet begun preparing for his last outing as the Caped Crusader.
“It just hasn’t been necessary yet,” Bale stated. “I know [Chris]’ll give me plenty of time to prepare for whatever I need to, and I’ll discover it. He’s a pretty damn good filmmaker. I trust that he’s going to come up with something wonderful.”
Production is believed to begin in New Orleans in April of next year.
