Joss Whedon has declared that he would love Angelina Jolie to play Wonder Woman.
Whedon, who will begin shooting The Avengers in early 2011, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about who he would like to see as the famous superheroine.
“For me, Wonder Woman was basically Angelina Jolie,” Whedon said. “She spends a lot of time flying around. She works in a lot of different countries. She’s very global. And she’s appalled by the way people treat each other.”
Whedon also revealed that he wrote a Wonder Woman script five years ago that was never produced, and that he modelled the character on Jolie, claiming that she was what he imagined a real Amazonian goddess would be like.
The Avengers is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2012.
