Carla Gugino has been cast in USA's six-part drama series Political Animals.
The series centres on Elaine Barrish (Sigourney Weaver), a divorced former First Lady who becomes a Secretary of State.
The Sucker Punch actress will play a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper reporter who wants to ruin Barrish's career, reports
Entertainment Weekly.
Gugino joins the previously announced James Wolk, who will play Barrish's son Doug, along with Brittany Ishibashi as Doug's fiancée.
Produced by Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark, Political Animals is expected to premiere this summer on the cable network.
Gugino can also been seen on FX's Justified, which airs on Tuesdays at 10pm.
