The good news just keeps on coming for “All American”Announced this afternoon, the CW is officially extending the drama’s second season by 3 episodes. That extension will bring “All American’s” second season from its original 13 episodes to a total of 16 – the same number as its first season.
The news comes just after “All American” premiered its second season Monday night, to some series high numbers. The premiere episode raked in a 0.3 rating in adults 18-49 – tying its first season’s demo high – and generated the show’s largest linear audience to date (884,000).
The series, which was a fairly low ratings performer for the CW last season, has had its first season available to stream on Netflix for six months now. Therefore, the season 2 premiere’s stronger ratings performance can likely be partially attributed to the exposure it has received from its presence on the streaming platform.
Created by April Blair, “All American” follows a star high school football player from South Central, when he is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High School. Its cast includes Daniel Ezra, Taye Diggs, Bre-Z, Greta Onieogou, Samantha Logan, Michael Evans Behling, Cody Christian, Karimah Westbrook, Monet Mazur, and more.
New episodes of “All American” air Monday nights at 8 p.m. on the CW.
