The claws will be coming out one last time



TNT has officially renewed its Niecy Nash-led hit drama, “Claws,” for a fourth season today, which will also be the show’s last. The news comes about a month and a half after “Claws” wrapped up its third season on the network in early August.

“For the past three seasons, ‘Claws’ has handled delicate and culturally relevant themes like race, class, gender, age and sexual orientation with grace and humor via superb storytelling,” said Brett Weitz, the General Manager for TNT, TBS, and truTV. “Fans cherish the over-the-top Clawsian moments that have defined its run, and we will do them justice as we wrap up the tale of Desna and her crew.”

Created by Eliot Laurence, “Claws” follows the lives and criminal acts of five women who all work at the same Florida nail salon. Its ensemble cast includes Nash, Carrie Preston, Judy Reyes, Karrueche Tran, Jenn Lyon, Dean Norris, Jack Kesy, Kevin Rankin, Jason Antoon, Harold Perrineau, and more. Throughout its first three seasons, it has become one of TNT’s flagship original series.

In its most recent season, “Claws” averaged a 0.3 live + same day rating among adults 18-49 and 815,000 viewers on TNT, while its simulcasts on TBS averaged a 0.1 with 431,000 viewers.
