'Lost Girl' renewed for fourth season by Syfy

The season is currently scheduled to wrap on April 22, with season four expected to follow in 2014.

In the UK, the first two seasons of Lost Girl have aired on the Syfy channel, with season three expected to follow later this year.

The headlines for this show often confuse me....this is not a Syfy show is it? I thought this was a Canadian network show (Showcase?). Does Syfy actually 'renew' this show or is it simply continuing to pay for syndication rights?

This isn't about ntscuser's post either, I think the headlines always say 'Syfy this', 'Syfy that'. I think the same is usually said about Continuum (also not a Syfy show?). Can someone 'splain this to me?
