Fox has confirmed an airdate for the final episode of cult sci-fi Fringe.
The JJ Abrams-produced series, which follows FBI agents investigating paranormal occurrences and an alternate universe, is set to conclude next year.
TVLine reports that the final two episodes will air back-to-back in the US on January 18, and soon after in the UK.
Anna Torv, who plays Olivia Dunham on the show, told the site she thinks it's important the show goes out on a high, saying: "In film, you can have sad endings - like, 'Oh well, it could've been' - but with television, you put so much time into these people that when you do finally say goodbye, you should be satisfied.
"Not necessarily happy, but not heartbroken."
Showrunner Joel Wyman recently said of the final episodes: "[We'll be] embedding certain things and trying to make it interesting and show a little love back. Fans have been so cool, making all these videos, doing all these mysterious things, and we thought, we can give them something too."
Ryman recently told Digital Spy that he finds it useful to monitor fan reaction when making the show, arguing: "I feel like when everything is working, the fans dictate to me that, yeah, they're feeling good about where the show is going."
