Smallville's executive producers Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson have dropped hints about Clark's storyline on the show.
Speaking to E! Online, the duo explained that the season will focus on the process of Clark (Tom Welling) becoming Superman.
"We'll see some familiar faces again," Souders promised. "And as we've always said, Clark has to get closer and closer to being Superman. We'll be seeing little hints about that throughout the rest of the season."
Meanwhile, Peterson suggested that viewers will be pleased with a romantic scene in an upcoming episode.
"There's a wink to a Clark-Lois moment in episode 12 that the fans have been screaming for," he teased.
Smallville airs on Fridays at 8/7c on The CW.
