Entertainment Weekly says that ABC decided to order new episodes of the show after ratings improved.

The programme, a remake of a 1983 miniseries, focuses on a group of aliens called Visitors who arrive on Earth and the resistance movement which attempts to fight them.

Morena Baccarin, Joel Gretsch, Scott Wolf and Elizabeth Mitchell star in the show, which premiered in the UK last month.

ABC has not yet confirmed the reports.
