Stargate Universe producer Joseph Mallozzi has revealed that the show could return as a series of television movies.+

The series, which was axed in December, will return to Syfy tonight with the first of ten final episodes.
In a recent post on his blog, Mallozzi wrote: "Hopefully by the time [the season finale, 'Gauntlet'] airs we'll have definite word on a potential movie or two."
The showrunner described the sci-fi drama's last produced episode as "a spectacular yet poignant season ender".
He continued: "If it's a go [on the television movies] and fans can look forward to a proper end to Destiny's mission, then 'Gauntlet' will certainly set the stage for a grand conclusion.
"If, on the other hand, things don't pan out and 'Gauntlet' does turn out to be the bittersweet [series] finale, fans will be thrilled, touched, heartbroken... and left to wonder what could have been."
Mallozzi previously ruled out the possibility of producing a full third season of Stargate Universe for another network.
