Ready for Aaron Stanford's next time-travelling adventure?



12 Monkeys is definitely getting a third season on Syfy, although you will be seeing less of the series going forward.

The US cable network has picked up 10 new episodes to air in 2017, down from the show's traditional 13-episode order.

Nevertheless, producer Terry Matalas told Entertainment Weekly: "Syfy and UCP have been incredible creative partners, and I'm thrilled that we are going to tell the next — even more twisty and emotional — chapter of this time travel adventure."

Aaron Stanford and Amanda Schull star in 12 Monkeys's TV spinoff as time travellers on a quest to save humanity from armageddon.

The 12 Monkeys series has found a devoted audience despite being called "dumb" and "ridiculous" by the film's director Terry Gilliam, who is not involved in the TV version.

12 Monkeys continues its second season on Monday, July 11 on Syfy in the US. Syfy also carries the series in the UK.
