Little after the conclusion to season two, Syfy has announced that Helix is not returning.
The season two finale - which aired on April 10 - will now serve as permanent closure to the science fiction thriller.
The decision comes after the final episode only attracted 440,000 viewers - down from its glowing start in January 2014, when 2.8 million tuned in.
Billy Campbell led the ensemble cast of Helix as a CDC official investigating the outbreak of a virus in the Arctic.
Kyra Zagorsky, Mark Ghanimé, Jordan Hayes and Neil Napier also starred, with Steven Maeda and Ron Moore as executive producers.
Syfy recently renewed 12 Monkeys, and will also debut The Expanse and Childhood's End later this year.
