Anne Heche's Save Me has been given a 13-episode series by NBC.
The comedy stars Heche as a character that has experienced a spiritual and physical awakening which has her channelling God.
The network hopes to debut Save Me after its coverage of the Summer Olympics in August, reports Deadline.
Last month, NBC picked up new series Go On, starring Matthew Perry as a sportscaster who attends therapy sessions to help him deal with a loss.
Go On could also premiere in August.
Heche previously starred in her own series for ABC called Men in Trees. She also appeared in the 2011 comedy Cedar Rapids and HBO's Hung.
