Actresses Michelle Trachtenberg and Heather Locklear have both been cast as leads in two new CBS comedy pilots.



EW reports that Locklear will play the lead role in The Assistants, which sees the former Melrose Place actress portray a high maintenance celebrity who causes numerous problems for her many assistants.

The project is expected to be a return to form for the actress, who completed a stint in rehab last year after developing an addiction to prescription drugs.

It has also been announced that Gossip Girl guest star Michelle Trachtenberg has signed on for a new project with the network.

The former Buffy actress has joined a new comedy pilot, currently untitled, about a group of co-workers at a large corporate firm.

Earlier this month it was announced that Trachtenberg will return to Gossip Girl to reprise her role as bad girl Georgina Sparks.

Both pilot episodes are expected to launch later this year.
