CBS renews comedies Mom and Mike & Molly

CBS has renewed comedies Mom and Mike & Molly.



The network normally reveals series renewals in large batches, but social media posts by show staff have brought the announcements forward.

Mike & Molly producer Julie Bean posted a picture of a news story to Instagram which explained the leaks from staff members.

It was accompanied with the caption: "What jerk did that??"

Chuck Lorre's Mom will return for a third season, while Melissa McCarthy's Mike & Molly - also produced by Lorre - will be back for its sixth season.

McCarthy will star alongside Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon in Paul Feig's upcoming all-female Ghostbusters remake.
