Logan Lucky falters, it wasn't that lucky after all
The Hitman's Bodyguard has fired straight to the top of the US box office for the opening weekend, snatching the number one spot from Annabelle: Creation, which falls to number two.
The Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds film grossed $21,600,000 against a $29 million budget, so not exactly setting anything on fire, but it still isn't that horrific.
Quite surprisingly, debuting in the third spot is Logan Lucky which took just $8,050,182 in its opening weekend, again against a $29 million pre-marketing budget, which is pretty terrible really.
Starring Daniel Craig, Channing Tatum and Adam Driver, Logan Lucky was probably expecting to do much better really, especially when you factor in the awesome cast, but like we said before – summer.
Thanks to those two new releases, Dunkirk falls to four this week after taking $6,700,000 this weekend, making it $165,508,079 since its release five weeks ago.
Rounding out the top five is The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature, which grossed $5,113,278 this weekend - totalling $17,696,923 so far, which is massively below its $40 million budget.
The rest of the top 10 this week consists of The Emoji Movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Girls Trip, The Dark Tower and Wind River.
