Captain America: The Winter Soldier has won the US box office for a second consecutive week.

The Marvel sequel faced competition from various new releases, but took an estimated $41 million to keep hold of the top spot.

Last weekend, the film broke April box office records by taking $96.2 million during its opening few days. The previous record was held by Fast Five, which collected $86.2 million in ticket sales in April 2011.

Rio 2 wasn't far behind the Chris Evans blockbuster, with $39m in second place. Karen Gillan's horror film Oculus took $12m and debuted at number three.

Draft Day - which stars Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner - took $9.75m to debut at number four.

Divergent dropped 42.2% and took $7.5m to complete this week's top five.

God's Not Dead dropped three places to seven, after taking $5.49m in its fourth weekend. The religious film - which was made on a budget of less than $3m - has now passed the $40 million mark at the domestic box office.
