Johnny Depp has revealed that the fourth film in the popular Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise will be much easier to understand than the previous entries in the series.
Depp, who reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for the film, has claimed that efforts were made to make Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides simpler than its predecessors, which were criticised for having overly-complicated plots.
"The thing with Pirates 4, I felt like we owed it to people to entertain them," Depp told Empire. "Dead Man's Chest and At World's End became quite... sub-plotty.
"All these people went to see them two or three times just to figure out what was happening," Depp added. "This one is a little closer in tone to the first [movie]."
Also returning for the new film are Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa and Keith Richards as Captain Teague.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is scheduled to be released in 3D on May 20.
