The network has officially canceled its fall supernatural drama, “Midnight, Texas,” and its summer comedy, “Marlon.” The news comes just a week before “Midnight, Texas” is set to air its season 2 finale, and several months after “Marlon” finished its own second season back in July.

Based on Charlaine Harris’ best-selling book trilogy, “Midnight, Texas” takes place in a safe haven for for vampires, witches, psychics, hit men, and others with extraordinary backgrounds. It follows the town’s members as they form strong bonds, and fight to protect both themselves and the haven from forces that would seek to tear it (and them) apart. It stars Arielle Kebbel, François Arnaud, Dylan Bruce, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Jason Lewis, Peter Mensah, and more.

After airing its first season Mondays in late summer 2017, “Midnight, Texas” moved to a new, fall Friday night time slot this season, and suffered a noticeable ratings drop as a result. Its currently averaging a 0.4 live + same day rating in adults 18-49 so far this year, down from its first season’s 0.7 average.

“Marlon” experienced a similar drop year-to-year. It averaged a 0.6 L+SD rating earlier this year, down from its first season’s 1.1 average. Created by Christopher Moynihan and Marlon Wayans, the series followed Wayans as a loving (but immature) father with a larger-than-life personality, committed to co-parenting his two kids with his very-together ex-wife. In addition to Wayans, it starred Essence Atkins, Bresha Webb, Diallo Riddle, Notlim Taylor, Amir O’Neil, and more.
