Terry O'Quinn has joined Fox thriller pilot Gang Related.
The drama stars Ramon Rodriguez (Charlie's Angels) as a gang member who goes undercover to infiltrate the San Francisco Police Department.
O'Quinn will play police chief and head of the anti-gang task force Sam Chapel, reports Deadline.
Inception star Tom Berenger was originally attached to the role, but dropped out following the first table read of the pilot episode.
His replacement O'Quinn is best known for playing John Locke on Lost and recently starred in ABC's short-lived paranormal series 666 Park Avenue.
The 60-year-old actor has also recently played recurring roles on Hawaii Five-0 and TNT's sci-fi drama Falling Skies.
Also cast in O'Quinn's new pilot Gang Related is Fast & Furious actor Sung Kang, who will play FBI gang specialist Tae Kim.
